Description: |
From the show, "South Pacific," this lovely tune is the 1963 duet version by Frank Sinatra and Rosemary Clooney. My singing partner, Marcy, is singing the Clooney part. I've used the original Sinatra-Clooney recording and applied MTU's "Vogone" software to remove most of the original vocals, retaining the lush instrumentation. . . . My wife, Sharon, and I found this song special, as I first saw her "across a room" from a movie theater line, and we met a few minutes later. We dated for a year and have been married 40 years. Now the bad news: Sharon has severe Alzheimer's disease (for 5 years now) and has lived in a specialized facility since September, when I no longer could care for her at home. So, with this tremendous loss, this song takes on bittersweet significance. Anyhow, I hope you enjoy listening to this performance. |
