Something good to remember.  Many reading us aren't the ones responding. Assuming a person cares what other's think, it's not a good idea to be too open, and state anything that can be, and likely will be thrown in your face at some point down the road.  Of course this is assuming you care if that happens.  NOT ALL like us, for whatever reason, and it's important to remember MANY ARE judgemental, they make assumptions about who we are based on our post count, content, time of day posting, etc.. Additionally, MANY that post as our online friend, are not... These rooms collectively are superficial venues that are set up as topic bboards.. Anything we say outside of that can, and will be used against us...(so to speak)  believe me, people that we don't know are sometimes as obsessive... Never divulge TOO much.. with a google map, and AOL White and Yellow page directory...and a lastname. you never know who will pay you a visit..  Does this sound paranoic ?  Sure it does... But I've moderated numerous America Online Rooms, set up bboards....  While most in here responding are good natured, anyone anywhere in the world can read these bboards.  click the eye above in the tool bar, look at viewer's, how many times they've viewed, also look at anonymous viewers... Some are members here that wish to read with anonymity, other's are people that aren't even registered with this site...  Bottomline is.... This isn't a closed door support room... While I'm one to joke ALOT, and enjoy goofing off... even getting intense... You don't know much about me... except how I appear from my posts.... What this means is that while you can conclude I might not have a life, a job, and even believe I'm fat middle-aged with body odor living in my mothers basement, lose sleep everynight wondering how others will respond to my posts...  Only things you know about me, is what I tell you... HOWEVER, remember,  In many cases I can also do an internet search under your name, and what I know about you...and find out alot....

Never give away your life in a room where the world can read it.... enemies, spouses, relatives, and friends alike....  I can do a Keyword search under your "KS Screenname", and guess what pops up right off the bat ?   This room's content...

Think twice..

Good point Steve. I totally forgot that perspective employers have been known to search for this kind of stuff. This has kept people from getting work.

I may have to go back through all of my posts and redit some stuff if it's not too late.

Smart move...   It's not just what you post now, or your life now, but what you forgot you posted, and when something in four years happens, the inquirer is spewing garbage about Vice President Kappy, and the neighbors, and news want to dig up dirt on us to submit to the tabloids... Or even anyone who wants to mail what someone says in here to a person's spouse... It happens.., I could even find who your relatives likely are by doing a free public records search...

I'll admit something here too...

a few things actually...

1)  I'm really glad farm animals can't type
2)  I have no arms and legs.
3)  While I live in the basement of my mom's low income apartment... I don't make
her bring my food downstairs,  and my Body Odor isn't nearly as bad as I say..

(OK,  part of 3 was a lie)

brb,  meals on wheels is ringing the door bell

(rolling to door)

Stop it.

You are not a paranoid but you make noises like one.

Steven, come on down....I'll make room for you...the wife will snuggle up next to you....and the horses will allow you to learn about them.....The step daughter will act demanding and test your patience and then attach herself to you like glue.

You can 'give away your life here' and feel safe afterwards....No enemies, no plots, no agendas.......But it is fersure a room where everyone can read you and your life....It's a place where I'll show you mine if you show me yours....and then we will all eat real good and laff till we hurt.

If I had a horse,  I'd name it Sixx,  or Swoozy !

See, I'll prove to all of you I'm a realist...  It's around Mardi Gras season, and guess what state Keith lives in..  A common activity down south around Pennsylvania, even Long Island, is to hang Yankee's from the back of their underpants on lower limbs of a tree, wrap us with white tissue paper,  paint fur on us.... and smack us around with sticks like Pinjata's...

If you had a horse...you'd have a life....and then you would have an outlook and a reason to have more....and then you would seek wide open spaces...and big skys....and folks who are non threatening...and then poetry...and then music....and then love and passion....and then find the fight inside yourself to want to live forever.

But as you see, it's got to start with a horse, or at least the spirit of one....What would you call it?...I dunno, I call mine "Hero Gus" cause he saved my life....You could maybe call yours "Chance"....Then later change it to 'Sure Thang" :D

It has already happened to me once. I could wreck my life by just getting on someone's nerves, again.

It is my own fault. I know how this works. Yes it sounds paranoid but people can wreck another's life so easily.

Face to face friends are all I can trust and Very few of them can be trusted with too much.

For me, a long time ago.

I quit another forum for the reason mentioned above and swore I would not go on another one again. So much for swearing.

If someone wants to hop a plane out to visit me.  I'll leave a key at the gatehouse for them...  I love it when my enemies drop by..  I just wish more would call first, that way, I know when to leave my front door open so they can make themselves at home if Rubberina and myself are snoozing

I don't need to invite more trouble than I've already had. I don't want to explain what happened, I'll just say that a person can always find your most vulnerable spot without ever leaving their home.

I post without fear now.  While I care what many in here think, there are also a few in here I actually could not care less about, things have to be that way.. I don't expect everyone to like me.. I don't like 100%..  I try to be a decent person in here. In actuality I'm alot friendlier in here than I am on the exterior in my real world..  In real I'm stone-faced, don't make eye contact, and alot of the time, quite an angry person.  Very antsy...

I post this because while it's real,  I don't care that it get's out.  We can be real, we can divulge certain things...  Yet I don't like people knowing about my grandmother on my father's side, the armed bank-robber with a fetish for leather Yarmulke's with rubber ear-flaps, so I never approach the subject.

I must have pissed someone off. I don't mean you Steve. Reading the subtleties in posts through the forums has given me enough to be wary of.

I do care what I say to people, how they react is something else. I can only be responsible for considering what I do and that it follows my own rules.

I won't play that game..  Not since the time I showed mine,  and someone ripped me off.

OK,  enough gabbing, big afternoon for me,  need to prepare...

Thing's to do list:

1)  Stop off at fridge on way to mailbox
2)  return to computer

Thanks for the info Mr. Kaplan. I will be more careful in the future.

...if I ever post again. I really don't want to kill my already weak chances of getting work.

I've cleaned up most of my mess.

Hopefully if I tinkle anyone off they won't be able to call my house and make up stories to tell to my wife. Once is enough. I know, TMI, but it's the last time.

Thanks for helping me with that Kappy.

Exactly.  We can almost always trust that our "shrink" won't ring the neighbor's doorbell's advertising our quirky/idiosynchratic behaviour, however just because we are in the comfort of our living room relaxed and enjoying the moment (as we type in here), doesn't mean we are only sharing our content with those we've invited into our living room to chat with (when posting in these forums).

While for me these forums are fun and pretty honest,  I don't lose sight that for some other's it's an expressway where just like in a car, roadrage is more their thing...Some aren't quite happy and honest...
