Points on the way

I think people being able to bring their own discs is a great idea.. the bar I go to has LOTS of songs, but they are missing fundamentals. They have NO Norah Jones for one. I can't understand why a KJ wouldn't allow it really cause it's getting them more singers if the singers are happy, right?

I agree, I think it also cuts down on the number of dupes the bar winds-up owning if they compromise and allow people to bring music the bar doesn't own.

Yeah, true... a lot of people want to sing songs that noone else would even be interested in. I love the Tragically Hip, but my bar only has 2 tracks by them, both ones I really don't want to sing. Most people don't bother singing their stuff, so I doubt that the bar would invest in the disc.

That's a good point.   As Kjs we aren't normally going to buy discs that contain songs that noone will ever sing or be sung once a year.     I try to get songs that will get a fair amount of usage.    So... if you can find a disc that has the obscure song that you want to sing, then we encourage you to bring it.   It saves us money for the more commercial songs.        A fat book, full of never (hardly ever) sung songs is of no value.   Like the people that buy a Cavs with 9,000 Korean, 8,000 Chinese, 4,000 French, 2,000 Martian songs on it.    Just to say they have 100,000 songs.    Doesn't justify the cost.   No offense intended to people inhabiting these places.
