I will offer that in the the future if you a sub by you. I will be honest and only speak about what I heard.

I make mistakes and really don't notice all of them. It does help a lot to be told.

For example, this evening I have my last voice-over class. The instructor has been trying to get me to understand that I shouldn't quit my day job. He even recomended me getting one and then not quitting it. Two reasons for this. First, he doesn't think I will do well of course. Second, even if I do turn out to be really good at it, I would not be able to make a living at it. There are too many actors and not enough work.

With getting voice over work I think it is more who you know in the
business. Once your in you'll have plenty of work. I know where my fiancee
works they use the same voice over people for all there work.

I don't recall if I saw whether or not you mentioned this Bab's in your subs.  Assuming you didn't put this in your descriptions, it's VERY important when subbing in "C", that you DO mention you recorded the song once with no editing.  That way a few of those "sharp area's" or anything that might not've been "nailed", will become much more understandible to the listener. In fact,  likely some of the small area's can no longer even be considered area's where you really have a problem... because given one rough take... NOTHING can be fine-tuned.  You have no frame of reference to re-do, when only done once.  That makes a HUGE difference. Just one rough take.. due to time constraints, or whatever....can't be Critiqued the same way as the person who has submitted their best effort after listening, and editing

EXACTLY..  Some things are just best left as hobbies, and interests we can enjoy and share with one-another. Those who often hired me, liked me for some weird reason...A huge social factor comes into play, there are MANY that are better than all of us.  If not now,  they will fall out've some crack in the wall in the near future in the performing arts... Noone sit's on easy street. There's brutal competition in the arts.  None of the industry pro's even have it safe in this area,  there're plenty that can at least give them a good game of "King of the Mountain" and rough them up a bit.

Chuck,  you might want to mention that you are studying more seriously, and learning voice over technique.  Sometimes in making mention of these things, we attract a different type of constructive opinion, or the opinion of the person who ALSO is learning comparable techniques.  It makes the listener more aware of where YOU likely know you are in this skill, additionally, when a person let's me know they are "learning", "becoming", "Studying", "taking lessons", it let's me realize that the person CAN likely take some constructive criticism. Likely because they KNOW what the term CRITIQUE actually means !  Some that appear they want it, really don't know the definition of the term.  They think it means "insert applause here"

"Ok what now" brought up an excellent point during this discussion in a different thread.  When asking for Critique,  it's really helpful to those listening to know what YOUR objective's are, what you are trying to do with a particular song, and where you are (and have been) in this area of skill.  I've Critiqued people as pro's, when it turns out, they claim afterwards they just started singing for the first time three weeks ago thursday, etc.   Makes a BIG difference in approach taken

My advice is, pick out what you like about the sub, and say it. I read the description, listen to the song then comment. People who actually write descriptions usually get bigger comments from me because then I have something to work from. Unless of course they totally wow me, then I have no trouble saying why I liked it. Just don't start  putting "nice listen" on everyone's and you should be ok  LOL

how fascinating...i have subbed one song and it was not only unedited, it was the first and only "take." it honestly never occured to me to tweak the recording because i am, after all, a karaoke singer, and you don't get a second shot at it on stage.

i had no idea i was that naive.
