Sorry if this has already been answered, but I'm making backups of my karaoke discs and out of all of them, my drive would not recognize two sets-- the Supercore 2005 and 2006 collections.  ~30 discs... ouch!

I'm using an NEC 6500a with the latest drivers and even installed ASPI today in an attempt to solve the problem.  No go.  Do I need a different drive (or hopefully, just drivers/firmware)?

Here's my Nero Info:

I'm hoping to be able to start running karaoke from my laptop so I can keep my discs in good condition.  I've already had to replace a few.

goto www.kjamp.com and download KjripNzip which is a free program. I know it works with nec drives. CDrwin will also give you their aspi drivers if you want to use them.
you can also try www.goldenhawk.com and get cdrwin as they list your drive as compatable. after that you need cdgautoname to name the files then you need MP3+GToolZ to convert it to mp3+G.

I use audiograbber which works well, even on the Top Tunes discs that have the "protection" built in that defeats the CDR WIN program.

I use Microstudio when i run into copy protected stuff that cdrwin can't handle. Adds renaming to bin as a step but works perfectly everytime.  Always liked micrstudio over crwin anyway as i can test the files before conversion to even dcide whether it is worth converting.

None of them were helping, so I tried going from the last disc instead of the first.  Power CD+G Burner is not having any problems.

I think it might be something with the first (or first few?) discs in the 2005 collection.  When I put the disc into my laptop, the DVD drive doesn't spin up like it does with the others.  I think that's the main problem.  I'm going to try reading from another drive ... or maybe the disc(s) itself is bad...

Ultimately, only the 1st disc was not recognizable... not sure what that's all about but I will check to see if the normal player will accept it tonight.
