Well, this new horse Gus is working out just fine.
Him and Gambler get along great and he too likes beer!
I gotta go to work tonight and won't get off till midnight .....If it ain't raining when I get home I'll build a campfire and pour them a round......I'm feeling restless and need their advice.....I'll see if Gus spooks when I sing to him.
It's going to be really dark tonight. The moon left a few days ago.

And.......... what may I ask........... did that post have to do with Country Music? LMAO
You know, the horse I had when I was 16...... used to love when I'd play and sing to him. He'd come up to the fence, I'd sit staddle the gate usually and play my guitar out in the field..... cause it was nice and quiet there. And he'd come up and nudge the guitar strings with his nose. It was funny.

I never sang to a beer drinkin' horse, or any other kind for that matter. I have sang to a few wimmin' who resembled a horse, one end or the other anyway, but come to think of it that would be disrespectful to horses so forget I wrote this.
I do like the idea of sitting around a fire and singing and picking though. It's been too long since I did that. The last time I recall anything close was a while back when a lady and I were at a park one night. She had asked me to bring my guitar and to sing to her. I sang John Prine's "Can I Go All the Way With You" to her. After which she tried to have her way with me. Danged if I can remember whether she was successful or not. Some stories are better left untold.
I guess John Prine is close enough to country. If you squint.
By the way, Keith I like Gus but that little Apaloosa of yours is a mighty good looking horse.

Yup. I also helps if you have dogs, Mama and maybe a prison. Trains, of course are mandatory. Steve Goodman said so. You can look it up.

Like Larry, I have sang to a group of people who I thought were cousins to a horse, but never a horse of course. ??? Anway, I did have a pet coon who used to like (or seemed to) to listen to me play the guitar and sing. He mainly liked the theme music to Zorro.

I guess you have to have a lot of respect for a coon who will listen to music. The theme from Zorro you say? I wonder how he might have done with the theme from Gilligan's Island.

As it turned out, it rained all night so the horses stayed in the barn and I played on the computer till I got sleepy.

My wife is ruining my horse......she ordered him boots last night.....BOOTS!....150 bucks per pair, not for 4, but for two, and he's 4 wheel drive, so that means she will buy 2 more next payday....Heck, I don't pay 300 bucks for my boots!...and have you ever met a woman who thought one set of shoes/boots was enuff?!
I see where this is going...she is going to try to doll him up with all kinds of fancy silly looking stuff....The guy is going to stop acting like a horse and get all limpy wristed if i don't put a stop to it now. I will not allow her to turn my Gus into her Wuss!

Yep...I've notice he already has a little extra swish in his tail and kinda flutters his lashes at me...If he starts rolling his hips when he walks, I'll shoot him.
