Okay I'm digging this whole subbing songs thing, but what are you guys using
to edit your songs. I'm just recording them raw and submitting them. There has to
be a better way. I have some songs that there is no where to breathe without skipping a word or 2 to breathe. Is there a program you can record the same song a
few times and then splice them together, so I can breathe.

Any multitracking program will do it..
For me, I used to like KRITAL Audio engine  http://www.kreatives.org/kristal/

but now love and use REAPER http://www.cockos.com/reaper/download.php

Both are free.

I use Cooledit. Got it a few years ago when I could afford it.

This one was recomended to me by my voice-acting teacher. It is freeware.

I got some equipment on the way to help with subbing songs. It will also help with karaoke if I get to do some more KJing.

Looks like a good deal.

I personally use Adobe Audition.. USED to use Audacity until I had it crash on me twice when I had a multitrack that was made from scratch all mixed. Adobe has awesome effects and controls, you can tweak anything with it. It costs about $300 but I think its well worth it. I am still new at using it, but my first sub with it you wouldn't know because it's a good program.  :D

I used to just play the backing on my desktop speakers and croon through the plastic mic that came with the computer.  All this time I had a wonderful software called Vegas Video that I used to edit these little comedy flicks I make--very versatile and in fact, it also works nicely for doing my submissions just using the multiple audio tracks it has.  It has various filters that can be applied and the reverb setting on this is much easier to figure out than on another software I ordered specifically for karaoke recording (i.e., there are multiple presets in this option, such as "large room", "studio setting", "warm space", etc).  It's very easy to use and I think we paid something like $150.00 for it.  And of course, it does a LOT of neat things in the video editing format, including bluescreen effects and other neat stuff.

Wow that's a simplistic approach to things! I only started using Adobe right now cause my duet buddy Ed van der Blade uses it, and it made things easier to coordinate for dry vocals etc. When I started out doing this, I was using Goldwave and what U hear...but getting poor sound quality. I dunno how your subs sound so good Michael, you wouldn't know you don't multitrack.
