...I woke up to find a colorful bag stuffed with CD's and a nice card!....One of the CD's has 'Come a Little Closer'!....She actually heard me mention I liked that song....Let's see, there is Phil Vassar, Dierks Bently, and Big n Rich...Cool!
...And last night I skipped work and we went out to eat and did some shopping together....But SHE'S the one who got to go on the trail ride yesterday while I watched the kid and tinkered on the other truck.
It's been a great weekend so far.

yeah, all he got was a kiss. i wokred a 36-hour workday last week in miami ( plus a couple of 8-hour days) so sleep is the only thing that didn't slip my mind. however, the cat and dog didn't even give him that much.

Man I really came out on top for Father's Day. I have 3 daughters. They got together and bought me a new set of tires. I've been working a temp job for 2 years that requires me to drive 90 miles each day round trip. I've got 66,000 miles on a set of 50,000 mile tires.
But the big thrill was that my youngest, who just graduated from high school, gave me a CD that contained a recording of the only one of my 3 kid's performances of any kind that I've ever missed. She plays tenor sax in her high school jazz band. One of the cuts was of a tune that featured her. Her school has a terrific music department. The jazz band has an amazingly full sound for a bunch of high school kids. When she cut loose with her tenor it was one of the most emotional moments of my life. Last year she was exceptional. This year I don't know what to say. Her performance just completely knocked me out. Even after listening several times I am having difficulty figuring out which part of her performance was written and which part was improvised. Knowing that my 18 year old daughter plays far better at this point than I ever have or will fills me with such immense pride I can barely describe it. Let it be said that I am not in any way ashamed of the tears I shed while listening to the CD.
As if that wasn't enough she also graduated #1 in her class last week.
I am one lucky Dad!!!!
Larry

EDIT: I forgot to mention that I didn't get hit either, not yet anyway. I also got the devotion of a sweet, beautful and sexy woman that I don't deserve. As long as she's with me though, I will relish every moment I have with her.
I was such a screwed-up mess when we met, I don't know what she saw in me. Over the years she has given me everything including the patience that no one should be required to give another person. I am the person I always wanted to be now. I owe it all to Gayle (Texas GiGi) for giving me the time to straighten myself out.

Ah, I reserve that splitting maul for men only.
But..... I'll mud wrestle her, if you really need me to. :D

Oh....... and, I didn't get a dang thing for Fathers' Day!! :D
I did... have breakfast with my dad, and then spent the afternoon playing music with him with the Old Time Fiddlers group, at a Strawberry Festival..... which, was fun.

I should mention what I got my dad for father's day. I gave him his presents early because he had to go to Korea last week.
He graduated from Texas A&M. He loves Aggie jokes and anything about A&M. I gave him two old pictures of a couple of places on campus. One of them He is sure to keep, the Sul Ross statue. The other is the meteorology building, that one may get "broke" before my next visit.
I also helped him get his daughter back. This time I hope she stays.
