After chatting up a few people in the forums here there are a few people GiGi and I have wished we could meet at some point.
Our location and budget do not permit us to meet most of the great people from this website but we hope to go to as many KS get togethers as we can to meet more of you great people.
Is there anyone you wish you could sing with, party with, or just have coffee with sometime?

I can't begin to name everyone I want to meet, but I will name a couple...
Sheree: a kindred spirit.
Kappy: fascinating personality(ies). erudite and witty.
Lonman: strikes me as a mystery man in some ways (quit laughing...he does!).
Keith02: big heart. just ask gus.
Odie: i anticipate the smile never leaving his face.
Charmin, Crystal and Sinnamon: i see a number of opportunities to get into trouble with any/all of these ladies.
Bigdog: a teddy bear (again, quit laughing!).
That's a good start.

Kappy needs to come to a get-together, for sure!!
Charmin...hail, I just want to party with her!!
XXX-tal...hehehe...I'd just like to see her swoon once she hit the ground in Texas
(And I'd sing--or try, anyway--any song with either one of 'em that they want!)
Babs...I want to party in your venue!!
Keith...Between the women stories and the sea stories, I don't think we'd bore each other, Senior
Jian...just on general principles...plus, I think he's among the most far-flung members we have...
Steve and Ryan...though we HAVE met, I'll party with you guys ALMOST anytime :beermates:
See...this is why, if I ever hit the lottery, I'm buying a KS Tour Bus...and we're going on a worldwide Karaoke Crawl!!

Thank you guys, that's sweet. It's ashame however, that just like Charmin, I too have a horrible fear of flying.. As a result, I have to admit that I'm not the most mobile person in the world these days. Another interesting option of course, that I've considered (but have to wear vertical stripes for because I've been enjoying eating like a goldfish lately) is meeting in a Video/chat type setting. Something comparable to PalTalk, or Yahoo A/V groups. I wonder what the feasibility of that type "Talk chat" setting being added as an adjunct feature here would be. Of course it would have to be rated "M" because God only knows what might show up on Cam one night  Not sure there's any means of controlling or filtering such rooms.
I appreciate the comments thus-far however.... I think most in here are very talented, some musically, others more technically/mechanically and musically, and while many of us talk about just about anything we feel like chatting about on a whim, others are more reserved and don't chat that freely on bboards, and don't wish to get overly personal divulging too much on an international highly visible forum, but these folks "in real life settings" are every bit as intelligent, talented, and fascinating. Some of us are more outgoing because we've had YEARS of internet chatting experience, and have adapted to this newer type of interrelating. I, personally have over time evolved to feeling more comfortable communicating on the internet. At first (like many) I was arrogant, a braggart, and more of a wannabe, I wanted to impress others with a false bravato, etc... It took alot of time in this setting, to learn how to integrate "Me" into a room, rather than trying to People please and impress which often is the original approach some take given anonymity yet wanting to fit in... Also how to express sarcasm (that MIGHT be misconstrued as an insult, whining, or slamming another person; maybe just a crass out've place comment. Acting goofy in this type venue) wasn't something that I knew how to do, I'd get warned for my conduct alot, my phrasing often-times (because I didn't know how to present myself in writing), wasn't seen as "clownish" or funny online 10 years ago.. My Sardonic glib would irritate people (still does of course), but when I got my first internet computer, and an AOL account I didn't use emoticoms LOL, so there was the tendency to assume the reader was telepathic, or could somehow clarovoyantly follow my context and mood... I also was notorious for answering peoples statements without quoting the original content I was responding to...For instance, last week someone here might've said something that I first noticed today (of interest to me), 150 posts later (and perhaps 6 days later) I'd respond to their past post with no reference..posting perhaps just "How much was it?".... The Sys Op, would send me Emails asking me what the hell I was talking about..
I always had a theory regarding online vs in real gathering... For instance America Online chat venues are notorious for people meeting annually at different locations. As were the Fidonet (Efnet/Undernet) stationary Bboard topic rooms, such as the Guitar room. Years ago (around the time people were still paying $6.95 an hour for non-premium America Online service, and using 2400 baud, and 9600 modems on their 286-SX computer to access CompuServe (up until early 90's when rates dropped, and America Online just charged a monthly access fee) there was still as much interest in folks that belonged to various stationary bboards meeting, and chatting on the phone time-to-time...
Point being, what comes up ALOT of the time, when folks do meet, is that many that don't express themselves as comfortably in this type forum, many that lack skill in communicating on the internet, and even have traits others online (sharing a venue) find relatively offensive, or those you don't even notice in chatrooms, happen to be the very people in real we have a blast with.. In fact often times we verbose types in real are quite shy, and don't have much to say LMAO..
Live Cam type chatter with voice capabilities might be quite interesting, or just chatting live with "microphone" comparable to PalTalk...
It's another option that can include any and all interested. Unfortuneately some of us are terrified of flying.. It's ashame, I know.... Yet it just is...
Thanks again for your interest. My not attending "gatherings" is no indication of how I do or do not feel about individuals I've met online. It's an indication of my own issues... I just wish to clarify that.

I will gladly buy him a couple of tickets. If he wins I will help pay for gas if I can ride along.

btw, Have airlines raised their prices significantly to compensate for the high cost of gasoline lately ? I've heard they really haven't which I find VERY pecular. One would think that they'd have to double airfare this summer given the prices of gasoline. ?????

Dave, You know what fun comedic entertainment for the group would be, You and I playing a game of Trivia pursuit LMAO .. Between your ability, and my memory (which struggles to recall the capital of a state I've lived in for over 40 years) it'd be quite funny .. God am I awful at that game.. Same with those memory puzzles... You know, where you have to turn over blocks to match hidden patterns, or shapes... and as you correctly match pairs, you solved those patterns, and the goal is to expose all the hidden patterns by matching the correct pairs one by one, and recalling what's hidden behind where.... That keeps me busy for about a year LMAO

If-so it's not noticeable to me. Seem's as though you are being yourself, decent and respectful of others, loyal to friends and family, yet like all of us love to get in the occassional fun-loving "dig"... Noticeably great SOH.
Nothing seems contrived or competitive IMO...
ADDED IN;
As has come up in the past, I'll be the last one to ever say "I don't care what folks think of me here".. The fact that I keep coming back, the fact that I'm a regular is an indication I obviously care to varying degree's what others think of me.. Sure we want people to like us.... But I think most in here do a fine job of being able to make new friendships without sacrificing their identity... most in here seem mature enough to get along Just being themselves, or without sacrificing their values... That took me quite awhile... I didn't know how "be".... Didn't have a clue ... Finally I realized, if this is going to be at all rewarding for me, I need to be myself... and be honest with my feelings (as honest as reasonably possible that is)

Oy !! They can be so smothering and possessive. What a way to turn a woman off ! God forbid I even mention to them I'm thinking of becoming a lesbian !
