Thats the same thing that happened to me, mine was never the same after I accidently downloaded and unzipped a backdoor trojan and a couple of downloaders. Alcohol and computers don't mix well... . I just got a new hard drive and motherboard and am going to be a bit more careful!!

from http://www.theregister.co.uk/2006/06/12 ... ets_yahoo/
Quote: The JS-Yamanner worm spreads when a Windows user accesses Yahoo! Mail to open an email sent by the worm. The attack works because of a vulnerability in Yahoo! Mail that enables scripts embedded within HTML emails to be run within a user’s browser instead of being blocked.
Wouldn't disabling HTML in emails protect you from this worm, and a lot others?
I feel the moron that started mail porograms to be compatiable with HTML should be strug up by his/her toes.

I recall a while back something like this was going around. I had 4 email accounts, and I would get emails from myself that I didn't send.... and from my kids.... and they got them from me. I quickly emailed everyone not to open anything from me unless it had a certain heading. I think- maybe- that's where I ended up getting that worm I did........ right before I had to go buy a new hard drive.

Sinnamon...great idea!! You know I've got some friends who like to consider themselves "uber elite" when it comes to this stuff. They intentionally got their hands on a mini mo trojan to try to learn how to control it...well it controlled them and messed their PCs up something royal...I laughed my a$$ off!! Served them so right...needless to say I didn't take any file transfers from them... .

Here's what's happening. Last night while I was in the room, I started noticing while refreshing I was getting abit of a brighter flashing, and strange stuff (as well as very slow response seemed to happen). I haven't opened any strange Emails.. For some strange reason there appears to be a BIOS problem now ? or device driver problem on my system ? WHY ? Only thing I did, was the same thing I've done in the past, which is occassionally hook my MP3 player up to my main system which forms an F drive, however that's temporary and hasn't in the past caused GP faults, and the blue screen of death. Either that is the problem, or some strange virus that my antivirus software isn't detecting has affected my system and caused windows to crash twice in the last 24 hours.

If I for some reason did something wrong, I apologise for sounding like an alarmist. The reason I am sharing this however, is that I've received a few PM's regarding people getting weird Active X messages, and a few days ago, I too received something (I didn't pay much attention to) not in Email however, that suggested I check Active X on my system, or DL something pertaining to Active X to view perhaps a...
Oh man,,,I just got an Idea...
When we opened the George Bush U-2 thing, did we get a virus ?????

The bad news is, they make tens of thousands of dollars every month with the viruii.
They steal your I.D., empty your bank, open charge cards in your name, and much more..
Check around..
