If anybody is SERIOUSLY considering coming to the Portland area the weekend of
August 18 and 19 for a get together, please leave a post. If there is some serious interest out there we can set some plans in action. Thanks!
Everybody interested in attending please take the poll. I'm just trying to find out how much singing and socializing everybody would be up for.

Hmm, very tempting. I could fly up there for that but August is so far away. I usually don't plan a month ahead due to my work. I may be going to China in July for business but that may get pushed to August. So, if everything works out I will be a definite maybe.

Flipper,
Should I tell them about the law prohibiting two people of the opposite gender
being in the same building after dusk ?

Actually we have three genders here. We haven't figured out how the third one works yet.

Seriously, I'd love to live in an area like Canby, or any small town in Oregon (that is assuming it's within short distance to shopping area).. I don't want to be in a totally remote area.. I really have to get out've Connecticut.. I'd love a smaller quaint town in Northern Ca. Oregon, perhaps New Mexico in the Santa Fe area.. I need a pretty location. Ct just isn't a place to be anymore... There's no oppt for artists of any type here, and considering the cost of living, it offer's VERY little in return... Ideally, I'd probably want to be right in an affordable area of a city like Portland though. I don't like driving. I still need to research Branson, and Nashville, but I doubt that area aesthetically compares to the Pacific Northwest.
Next move I want to be THE LAST !

You know I got to looking athe the Canby Hilton photo and there has been some improvements made since those photos were taken.
Like diving boards on each balcony (pool below not pictured)
I think they still have those 25 cent vibrating beds. kinda works in conjunction with the karaoke system....(when you need a little vibrato just drop a quarter in the machine and bingo)

Odie may have to answer that question. I'm sure it was a recent improvement. Probably has something to do with the Mayor trying to upgrade stuff ya know....
Hey really Canby is a very nice town. You can drive just 15 miles and you are in the city but it has kept it's small town charm.
If you wanted to be close in Milwaukie and Gladstone areas are very nice and affordable. You are still within 25 minutes from Downtown area.

Yep, The pool does quite well during the sweltering summer months ! But now Diving boards ? I don't recall either end being quite deep enough for diving

Steven, if you keep posting pics of Canby....... you're gonna get EVERYONE wanting to come, and we just can't accomadate that many here. Then, for crise sake, can you imagine the number of people who would love it here, and want to move here permanently?
We do want our small town to remain...... small town. Geesh, if people keep becoming attracted to this area , next thing you know our police will be able to get rid of those 1962 Chevy trucks and get fancy schmancy cop cars like those big cities have.... And real cuffs rather than duct tape.... And the court judge will start wearing some dang silk robe rather than his overalls. I'll pack up and head farther up the hills if that stuff starts happening. I don't want the big city evils coming into our town. So, please..... for me..... don't keep pointing out our obvious attractions. You really could be harming our current way of life. :(
