I thought about it and have concluded that the station I am going to set up (even though I am using a laptop to do so) is going to look from the singers standpoint  like i set up a second desktop computer with an external mouse, Keyboard, and monitor which I have cloned from the laptop's display.  the laptop itself will be inside my second rack which will be doing triple duty for me as I am also going to invest in a rackmount keyboard tray for my main system. it will also be raising my main system so that my singer's monitor at private gigs will be high enough for the singer to see. At bars where I might be tapping into the house tv system, my computer monitor will be a top my rig.

Good idea.  But don't forget to leave room for ashtrays and drinks at a level lower than the computer and secure the keyboard to something.
