Wow, you were out of power for 12 hours? Geez, did a whole sub-station blow up or something?

Hey Don LTNS LOL
Lightening struck transformer 40A9 and the utility pole snapped in half. The rain never stopped, and the storm backtracked after that. Alot of wide-spread wind damage, and lightening damage.... Torrential downpours, dropped limbs on wires....
Around here it's VERY common to be without power for at least 12 hours....
Once a year, a few people from the bboards here in KS chip in, and pay NE Utilities to knock power out in my area, so they get a day's reprieve from me in here

There has to be. Statistically that is !
(Just saying when I called the Utility company, that was the outgoing message I got.. Naturally they didn't admit that I was cutoff in a coupe.. (Does coupe have an E ? or no E at the end?) Dang

The main time we get long power outages is when we have freezing rain/snow and branches or entire old trees topple onto the power lines.

That too of course Don. CT drivers in the winter often have an easier time driving into stationary objects off the road. I suppose many haven't taken enough physics to realize that when you are in a very large moving object, and it runs into an even larger stationary object more firmly attached to the ground (such as a 400 year old tree, or a 30 foot utility pole) the object you run into is going to slow you down VERY VERY quicky, and even do ALOT of damage to you and your car...
They never seemed to teach that in CT driver's Ed courses.
(CT I think still wins with having the nations worst drivers)
I've had this bumper sticker I've wanted to put on one of my cars, but my last three were pretty nice cars, and I didn't want to put, "If you don't like the way I drive, stay off've the sidewalk" on a decent car... Might catch the wrong persons eye. When I used to go to bars around here, there was ALOT of keying of cars, vandalism, and I stopped going to Hartford because of exstensive damage. Just wasn't worth it.. Today it's worse I suppose. People are getting shot left and right
Kid's in playgrounds even... ALot of violence for a small city

Uhmmmm shouldn't this thread be titled "food talk"? And it all started with the fondue...I haven't ever had fondue actually! :yum:

Dear "thread about nothing",
Today I came to the conclusion that all men are created equal. They are all pigs, they will never change, and they think of nobody but themselves.
I think, we need to seperate the US, no more "co-ed". (they can have the Eastern shore, I prefer it here out west)
We can simply hop a plane when we need, well...... you know. Might make better business for airlines, cause I'd dayum sure be hopping on a plane for the first time- and many times thereafter. LOL
But, for the rest of the time..... I want men to be an unknown entity, I prefer them to just DISAPPEAR. I wont need one to "protect" me..... if there are no other ones around. I can handle my own with women.
Okay, thanks for listening....
Gawd, I love this thread. It listens, and understands, never judges me, and never talks back. (must be a female thread?)

Why even bother ? Find one of the better ones (assuming one actually exists), and mail order him from an adult toy store.. Just make sure "he" is packaged descreetly, and without batteries. It can be quite embarrassing when he arrives buzzing in the UPS guys hands, and the guy knocks on your door.
"I have a buzzing banana here for you Ms Charmin, would you please sign for him"
(no I never did experience this happening firsthand)

Mail order? Heck, there's stores all over PDX & Oregon City for that kind of stuff. And those guys don't batt an eye..... no matter what kind of armload you carry to the counter to purchase. No room for discreet at all, who needs it anyhow? (I am SO discreet in these forums though, you'd never believe it if you met the "real" me) LOL But, them buzzing bananas just.... don't have it all. Nope, still gotta have a man for around as well. (note: I said 'as well' rather than 'instead') Muahahaha Quote: OK, i'll bite, why are all men pigs this time? Same reason as always, they just are. And hey, that was a private discussion between me and the "thread about nothing"...... how'd you quote that? Quote: Oh no he bites get a muzzel
Now, "biting men"....... I can handle. :D That's one of life's little "spices" I referred to in another thread. Yeah, biting can be okay, in certain circumstances. It's when they open their mouths to speak.... that they turn back into piglets.

As long as you fetch him a few beers, and let him watch TV, I'm sure he won't mind holding the buzzing banana for you. Just have to make it worth his while and show him how to work the thing...We aint rocket scientists LOL
