Well, I've never been to England
But I kind of like the Beatles
So I headed for Las Vegas
Only made it out to Lido's
Can you feel it
Must be weary
Oh so good... oh feel so good

Michael,

I've never been to Heaven, and I've not seen Oklahoma. Unless Three Dog Night wanted to do their own lyric rendition on the song it was written I thought as Lido's.  I have both sets of lyrics listed...
The Song was actually written by Hoyt Axton, and covered by TDN and Elvis.  Axton and Elvis sing "Lido's", TDN either misheard, or decided to use Needles (I think). I think Axton intends the phrase to be "Never gonna loose it".... TDN sings lose...Axton incidently also wrote "Joy to the world".  Three dog night did ALOT of cover material, they only wrote a few songs of their own.  But they were a fabulous trio of singers.  Not sure if any of them are still alive today either... Kath off'd himself, as did Chuck Negron I think... Too bad, I like the group

but I really don't remember
Whether it Lido's
or maybe Needle's
What does it matter ?
What does it matter ?

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Never Been To Spain
Elvis Presley

(words & music by Hoyt Axton)
Well I've never been to Spain
But I kind of like the music
Say the ladies are insane there
And they sure know how to use it
The don't abuse it
Never gonna loose it
I can't refuse it

Well, I've never been to England
But I kind of like the Beatles
So I headed for Las Vegas
Only made it out to Lido's
Can you feel it
Must be weary
Oh so good... oh feel so good

Well I've never been to heaven
But I've been in Oklahoma
Well, they tell me I was born there
But I really don't remember
In Oklahoma or Arizona
What does it matter
What does it matter

Well I never been to England
But I kinda like the Beatles
Well, I headed for Las Vegas
Only made it out to Needles
Can you feel it
It must be real it
Feels so good
Oh, feels so good

We pulled into Portsmouth on the east coast  which in the summer is similar to Coney Island.   Spent a couple of tours in London Did Madame Tusauds wax museum partied in the soho district and the biggest dance clubs availible. Sang with the animals and some twist bands.

Dont think Id like it in the winter with the cold damp, but in the summer it is one hell of a party town... It has some of the richest and best known history in the world. It gave me an foundation and an insight into previous lives.. I have been in some of the major ports in the world and none effected me like London...

I have been to London a few times and like any large city, I love it and hate it. I love the tradition and the history of the city. I love the pagentry and the night life. I hate the traffic, specially from and to Heathrow. I hate the fact that there are few good places to get decent food, you have to search well for it.

Those little things aren't really cars over there Eben.. Do what we highschoolers did, if they get in your way, pick up one end, and pivot it in a different direction. Just make sure a Bobby doesn't smack you with his Billy, and get scones and spotted dick on your tea-cozy.   (something like that),  I don't speak engris to good.

Are you familiar with the early 70's hit "Never been to Spain" ?    Three Dog Night covered it on "It Aint Easy"

Are you kidding me? Those cabbie in London drive cars that's like twice the size of the our taxis here, specially the black ones that cost more. Love the scones and tea, Earl Grey of course. Just have to get used to looking to right first before crossing the road and endless number of turn-abouts. Those bobbies don't scare me, they dont' carry guns. :) Other than that, it's a charming city.

Around 1973 all the cars seemed so tiny.  Dunno.
