Karaoke Scene members will be getting together to sing on June 2nd, 2006
At Mary's Outpost in Grand Prairie, Texas.  

The owner has aggreed to let us start singing at 7pm so come early to ensure your place in the rotation.  As of right now I know of about 10 members that will be there.

The other thread was kinda...well...um....highjacked...but that is cool..It is a great conversation...So I am willing to sacrifice....

The lovely JT will be KJing for us.  The beautiful Taylor will be our waitress.  And Bruce and Jeanie will be behind the bar.....

Anyone that wants to bring food with them is welcome to do so.  They do serve sandwiches, hotdogs(but I've never seen any one eat one of those), tombstone pizzas (which I have eaten my share) and then there is popcorn, nuts and assorted junk like that.

An update:  Mary's has lost a daytime bartender, so Taylor will be behind the bar during the day, and said she may hang out and sing with us once she gets done.  So, I don't know who our waitress will be.

J.T. says the first hour (from 7-8) belongs exclusively to us...for that first hour, if they ain't part of our party, they ain't singin'!!

WOW, that's cool!  we must remeber to thanks them TREMENDOUSLY for allowing us to do this!  
i will be bringing my lovely bride so you can add here.  we'll call her 455.  
what does the rotation generally look like there?  hour?  hour and a half?

I have seen it be anywhere from 20 minutes to 2-2 1/2 hours...depends on the crowd.

AWESOME that the spousal unit is coming!!  Do you guys know where you're staying yet?  Because we ARE contemplating not going home on Friday and making a PARTY out of it!!

Lately it hasn't been getting too crowded until around 11ish on Fridays.. So it could be just us for a while...Maybe we will get sick of singing...Nah!!!  I am thinking it may only be about a 20 to 30 minute rotation and then may jump to an hour around midnite

don't know where we're staying yet.  how about letting me know where y'all are goonna stay and we'll make reservations there.  sharon said something about not going home either, so we could all stay at the same place.  i am planning on bringing my discs and one of my books, y'know, just in case i have something that one of y'all wanna sing that JT doesn't have.  i'm pretty sure she won't have one of the songs that my wife does.  455 rocket, by kathy mattea.  anyways, it's gonna be a blast!  which is something definitely needed from our perspective.  i took two days of vacation this week to put up a new fence and put in a new driveway.  blech!

I beleive they have that one...They have a huge selection...It's an in house system...and JT has some that they don't.....But definately bring yours too because it may be a version she doesn't like...

I must talk to the hubby and find out if he wants to sleep over in that neighborhood for the night...I'll keep you posted...

It's looking like a possibility for me...  I have a sis in Watauga who might come with me...

Richard is willing to work at the store, do the show Friday night and repeat the process on Saturday..

I would drive up Friday and come home Saturday...

What is the location (address for yahoo map and tele # in case I get lost) and the start time?  It appears the singing could start as early as 7:00...

This would be cool for me as I'm only 4 hours away and my wonderful hubby is all for me having a great time!

P.S. Is the hotel you are speaking of connected to the bar so there would be no driving after the festivities?

The hotel is on the same street.  About two or three miles.  Maybe not that far.  Just a bit too far to walk.Cab fair would be about 5.00 to get to or we could have someone drive you.  Let me know.  I could swing by and pick you up.

We will start singing at 7pm.  And the first hour will be dedicated just to people from here.  

They have a really large selection of songs 10,000 or something like that. But some people do bring their own disc, cause they don't have everything.

Right close to the hotel are restaurants, Applebees, taco bell, KFC, mcDonald's etc....

Edited for your information - this was the incorrect La Quinta that I tried to book a room.  further down the page i have reservations at the correct La Quinta and the contact informations for that hotel unfortunately, quality was full when i called, so i called la quinta down the street from them.  they've got rooms to spare.  $77 for a non smoking room with two double beds.  i got a corporate rate of $69 (with terminix).
