Dave said that somebody will be taking videos. I'm looking forward to seeing some of these clips. Put links upto YouSendIt. That works pretty well.

Wow, cool! I thought Crystal couldn't make it, but I still thought maybe Sharon was coming up here because of her son.

Yeah, that would be cool if interested parties can coordinate their plans for sometime in August. I think Sharon is the person that has a definite schedule for her trip.

I hope to fly out to Seattle on August 18th in the evening and then drive down to Oregon that evening or early on Saturday and spend some quality time at Denny's. I want to hit Tacoma too and see Lonman's show while I am there...It will probably be the following Saturday for Lonman's show (Aug 26th).The hubby won't be coming until about a week later so you guys will just have to try and keep me in line while I am there!!!

Cool! I'll make sure Charmin doesn't miss this schedule info so she can plan accordingly.

Don, or any of you in Oregon. Roughly what eastern city is Portland the same lattitude as ? Massachusetts/ CT someplace ? Portland is northern Oregon I suppose.. I'm wondering if you folks are about the same latitude as the Hartford/Boston area.. Around my area. Wondering what type weather you get around now. I guess some of you are in a much higher elevation. yet I don't know anything about the Willimette valley area, or how large Washington state, and Oregon are, so it's tough to get an idea as to it's latitude.... Just curious. Don't feel like googling city latitudes now..heh

Portland is located in Northwestern Oregon right on the Washington border
Right now it is rainy weather. A couple of weeks ago it was in the 90's.
We always have warm weather in May and then the last week in May and the first week of June are rainy. Then the weather gets really nice. 75-90 degrees with low humidity say 30% or so. This is a beautiful city in the summer. It can get very warm from mid-July thru the end of August, usually in the 90's with some days in the 100's
again the humidity is much lower than the midwest or east coast, or the south.
From September through the end of October is usually 70-80s
Our rainfall per year here is 32-40 inches so everything is green and plush. Lots of Douglas Fir and Cedar/Redwoods, Oaks etc. Our countryside here is very similar to Tennesee or Kentucky.

Thanks Flipper,
I was looking at a map that showed latitudes. I wasn't aware that the canadian/US border is considerably further north once you get out towards the central and western states than the northern most part of Maine bordering Canada.. It appears, and this might be incorrect, that the Washington, Idaho, Montana border touching canada is even further north than Nova Scotia. Of course you can learn alot of trivia looking at a map. For those that haven't been to S. America. How many know how far east the continent actually is ? Very little of that continent isn't further east than the Eastern USA coast
