Can't tell who's a film-maker these days by looking at photo's, even musicians are shaving their heads now-adays. Of course Neilson did that ages ago too. Yet that wasn't common
Speaking of guitar museums... Ever see Rick Neilson's collection ? DANG

I wasn't aware of this :(
Too bad. I was hoping this would work out (the marriage that is)
Paul McCartney Could Lose Quarter of Fortune
Heather Mills Could Get 'Huge Chunk' in Divorce
By Paul Majendie
Reuters
LONDON (May 18) - Former Beatle Paul McCartney could lose up to a quarter of his estimated $1.56-billion fortune after separating from his second wife Heather Mills, legal experts said on Thursday.
That would equate to roughly $1.9 million for every week of their short-lived four-year marriage.
McCartney, 63, and former model Mills, 38, announced their separation on Wednesday, blaming media intrusion for the collapse of one of the most high profile showbusiness marriages.
Lawyers believe the divorce would never be allowed to degenerate into a messy court case but they said McCartney's decision not to seal a pre-nuptial deal could cost him dear in a private settlement.
The couple, who have a two-year-old daughter, Beatrice, met in 1999 at a charity event, a year after the death from breast cancer of McCartney's first wife Linda Eastman.
Lawyer Mark Stephens of Finers, Stephens and Innocent told Reuters: "Heather and the child need to be looked after financially. I think you are looking at 150 million to 200 million pounds ($283-377 million)."
"She is the child of a Beatle and they have to live in a cosseted and protected environment," he said, recalling the killing of John Lennon by a crazed fan and the attempt on the life of George Harrison .
Independent legal estimates on how much Heather could get are based on a recent high profile divorce dispute between fund manager Alan Miller and his wife Melissa.

Yes I did hear about that. Too bad. Paul did jump into this relationship/marriage very quickly after Linda McCartney died. Maybe it was too soon. I heard that he is blaming media pressures as a chief cause of their problems.

With his history of fame, past experiences with the Media, I suppose I don't understand why at his age, taking into consideration the many years exposure to media BOTH of them have had as celebs, the media would be the problem.

This is a problem I have with the country station. Everything seemed OK, then the third song comes on....
"What do you say when you look at the X-rays and you get that kind of news... I went Skydiving....etc..."
This stuff is depressing :( Not that the compositions aren't pretty musically, and I'm certainly not condescending on country. But some of this stuff makes me want to cry... I changed the station... Now it's CCR... Born on the Bayou...
I've even learned to stomach
"If I die before I awake, Feed Jake, he's been a good dog"
But these Bobby Goldsboro type songs, nope....Not for me.

That's true. Country music does feature a lot songs about human tragedy! There's one song, Whiskey Lullaby, it's all about a couple that ends up committing suicide because they thought they had lost each other. Tears can sell songs.

After about three weeks of not having been in Singer's Showcase. I decide to go in. I broke Singer's Showcase :( Listened to MichaelJKleins "Mack the Knife", commented. Screen locks...Does it post once ? Nope. Twice ? Nope... My post appears 3-4 times...
Appears as though I not only have a tough time keeping my mouth shut in here, but I go into SS and start spamming in there as well.

Hey Don, You want to hear a strong 1st tenor. Go into SS and listen to Boys of Summer, Angel, and Wicked Game... Some guy with a really vibrant actual 1st tenor (down to baritone) range  This guy submitted 2 songs in november and one January 5th ??? I think... Then I guess fell from this site...But this 25 year old has amazing potential. Strong 1st tenor... I wish this wasn't the first time I ever heard the guy... I'd hound him to do a few Journey songs.. He'd be great doing "Lovin Touchin Squeezin", "Lights"... and a few others....This guy was good...Never got heard him until now though :( With a little tweaking, this guy can be spectacular... Leo Sayer wouldn't be a bad request for him either.. His name is Nate ?? Hey Jeanne, you commented... Who was Nate.. Wow, what a powerful 1st tenor that kid is... He could pass for an Alto female register... Seriously, I'm envious... I wish I could nail a strong 1st tenor and manage his range down to baritone..

Jeanne,
My first thoughts were perhaps this is a younger teenager. He was 25 though. For 25 his singing register in real voice is high ! When I first heard him break into "Boy's of Summer" (following that intro Ive become so sick of hearing), I had to keep doing double takes on that blue arrow that indicates gender. I thought I was listening to a strong female Alto.... You know whats interesting (as I said "with a little tweaking") when he sings the chorus with the harmonies, his voice is so "dead on", he makes the backing vocalists even sound better too !!! (and they weren't shlocky to begin with ![LOL LOL](./images/smilies/emot-LOL.gif) ). Only thing I noticed were the few tiny area's other's mentioned where pitch was just ever-so-slightly off. Thing is, Singing in such a loud confident real voice, with all his vibrance and presence...Anyone is bound to have those few "pitchy" areas....
First thing of course I wondered when I heard his voice, which I'm wondering if it was in fact tenor, or possibly "Alto" if such a male voicing is even possible, was his size, race, etc.. I've never heard an adult male IN REAL CHEST VOICE hit that register with such uniform power and control.. I was impressed by that nuance of his.... A 14 year old boy, sure....... but a 25 year old male ?? That fascinated me... He really stood out in SS (at least in my opinion)... The guy if not already pro, really has a gift...

Hey Phill
The site is broken again !!!!!
Or maybe my computer has fibromyalgia or something . It takes forever to refresh and send, SS wasn't doable it was so slow... and I get loads of those debug error messages...I tried kicking my computer...even pouring some coffee into one of the cup holder bays on the systems mini-tower, but this time it didn't do much good.. It's a holiday weekend, but you better see if you can reach a veternarian, might be a vitamin D or B insufficiency :(

Dear Mr. Dylan,
Happy 65th birthday. Are you aware that as a senior citizen you can now take free college level music courses at your local community college ? I've heard the local community colleges in most locations offer excellent rudimentary "ear training" classes. This way you can begin to learn how to sing.. You're never too old to learn something new ! (If you want a critique, I better send it to you in private)
Your Pal,
Kappy

Check Sterling's video's out Don. Interesting and informative tribute to MM's Stingray bass 30th anniversary
http://www.guitarcenter.com/events/musicman/
I didn't know Sterling Ball (Ernie Ball's 3rd Son who became VP of MM, and a huge marketing asset for the "Ernie Ball" Co worldwide recognition) was a decent bassist too. I was buying Ernie Ball Super Slinky guitar strings WAY back I thought.. I guess they were around for quite some time, but just as accessory manufacturers.. at least until the mid 70's.. I managed a music store, and when I got busy helped out the manager following me part time around 79-81... The owner had MM Stingray basses (from 1976) that nobody wanted... He asked "Kaplan, give me 350 bucks and these are both yours".. Like an idiot I go, "why would I want those shlocky no-name things ?... My Alembic, and Jazz bass are all I need" ![LOL LOL](./images/smilies/emot-LOL.gif) Thing is, the 76 MM Stingray basses were no "Ernie Ball" improved active model with the same construction and neck of the soon to come Ernie Ball company Stingray basses.
I ended up adding a 1982 G&L L-1000 bass to the collection, but back in those days, short of the Alembic Distillate bass, I was afraid of a guitar that ran on batteries. ![LOL LOL](./images/smilies/emot-LOL.gif) .. Active electronics scared me. I wanted guitars with a good passive sound... not counting on additional circuits and electronics to make them sound like what synthesizers were doing.... Just my conservative old fartdom shining thru even during those days...I always was afraid a battery compartment would go bad, or a 9V battery would leak, and the guitar would be out've commission..
My theory is, rather than pay 1K for an active guitar that get's the sound of several guitars... I'll pay 500 each for two passive guitars that have the real sound of their own with passive circuitry, and minimal electronics such as PU's... At least in those days.
