Sorry but to me Elliot sounded like a goat with his tail stuck in a electric socket. Overdone vibrato drives me nutz!

Me too, I agree. Something about his singing just drove me bonkers- that overdone vibrato was a big part of it.
I'm happy with the results. Of course, I cheated cause I couldn't wait. The results were on Yahoo before AI ever started out here...... so of course I had to peak.
Great show though.
And Meatloaf....... flat out stunk....... ALL the AI contestants there last night sounded better than him.
Now I'm glad it's over. The suspense was killin' me. LOL

I thought that was some nobody she was in a band with, my, how 30 years can change a person, figured it might even be her grandfather

I have a funny feeling that a lot of established pro singers would have a hard time
doing as well as the top 5 AI singers.

Yep. Especially 30-40 years after their prime. After a night of no sleep after doing their psychic hotline programming, and having to squeeze into a girdle to make them look Svelt. Dionne Warwick forgot her polydent

I agree here too. IMHO this was the best AI ever, as far as the talent they had. I woulda really not been surprised to see ANY of the top 5 win. Makes you wonder..... WHERE were these people when they had the last 5 AI auditions? It should be a sign to those of you (I know some here did) who tried out before...... to go try again for the next show. They just.... I guess have to have their limits on how many they let audition, and I'm sure LOTS of great talent slips through the cracks.
Okay, and let me tell ya how "half asleep" I am right now:
I'm doing my usual, typing while listening in the showcase, and as I'm typing this I just got finished with a song. My mind is usually picking out things I want to comment on as I listen. (duh, as we all do I guess)....ANYhow. I started to type my comment here, it's just the next thing that popped into my head, since the song was over. Now wouldn't THAT have looked retarded!! And out of the blue "I think you did a great job....... blah blah....... one of my favorite songs....... blah blah". What a dork.
*going to get summore coffee* LOL

Kappy shame on you LMAO Dionne Warwick is like 90 yrs old.
I was actually surprised she sang as good as she did.
Meatloof didn't sing well, but I loved the duet. I thought Kat saved the day on that one.
The whole Toni Braxton thing was scary. Your right her mouth was moving, but nothing was coming out. Who paired Taylor with her? Dumb move - they don't even sing the same type of music.
My favorate was Paris - I don't know who the old guy is she sang with, but that was cool.
I am such a huge Idol fan when Clay Aikin came out I swear I swooned. There must be something wrong with me.
I wanted to see Kelly Clarkson sing - that is the only thing that would have made it better for me. I guess there is bad blood there after she sued to get out of her contract.

DITTO THAT!!!!!!
I still can't belive that Taylor won. I wanted him to win, but I didn't think he would. I gues it is not all about vocal tallent, you have to be entertaining too. And Taylor is definatly entertaining. Can't wait for his first album to come out. Hopefull he dosent sell out, and stick to what he does best!

oops I think I'm wrong - I couldn't find anything on the net about Kelly suing.
The only thing I found was something about licensing her songs to be sung on AI.
Which she is doing. Does anyone know anything about the rumor she sued to get out of her record contract with AI?

Woody currently has been advised by his lawyers not to speak on this
subject. Woody has been seen with his entourage localing the neighborhood bars.
It has been rumored he just got out of rehab for alcohol addiction.

The only thing I have heard at all, is that she got in trouble for singing at her local high school...... since she's still under contract with AI and isn't supposed to perform without their consent. ??

Contestants must be U.S. citizens and, for the first three seasons, had to be 16 to 24 years of age. For the fourth season, the upper age limit was raised to 28 to attract more mature and diverse contestants. That means people like Lisa Tucker was 11 y/o 5 years ago, not eligable!
Does that answer your question?
