perform live before they pass away? I regret not having seen some of the best performers of the past, the Rat Pack, Harry Chapin, Jim Morrison, Nat King Cole, John Lennon, Jimi Hendrix, Janice Joplin, Elvis, Freddy Mercury, etc. I was lucky enough to see the Stones, AC/DC (the old days), Aerosmith, Pink Floyd, U2, Black Sabbath (with Ozzy), Elton John, Paul Simon, Eagles and the Who (mostly) in person live.

It doesn't have to be your favorite singers/performer, just ones you would like to see. I would like to see Eric Clapton, David Bowie, Van Morrison, Neil Diamond, Bob Dylan, David Lindley, Todd Rungren, Paul McCartney, Peter, Paul and Mary, Carlos Santana, Bob Seger and Chicago.

Who would you like to see?

Some obvious people that I really wish I could see before it's too late are McCartney, Bowie, Willie Nelson, Ringo, Paul Simon and Elton John.  I've had opportunities in the past but I've either been too broke or too lazy to get tickets.  I also wish I could have seen The Band back when Robbie Robertson was still doing it.  And probably every concert in the 60's at the Fillmore West and East.

I have been lucky enough to see the Stones, The Who, Yes, Jethro Tull, Procol Harum, Lou Reed, Frank Zappa and The Mother's Of Invention, The Eagles, Poco, Bob Dylan, Jackson Browne, Warren Zevon, CSNY, Alice Cooper, Randy Newman, Cat Stevens, Al Stewart, Phoebe Snow, Joni Mitchel, Beck, Gordon Lightfoot, King Crimson, Merle Haggard, Jerry Lee Lewis, B.B. King, Chuck Berry, The Monkees, Iron Butterfly and last but not least Jonathan Richman and the Modern Lovers!

[quote="Odie @ Fri May 19, 2006 1:20 pm"] Willie Nelson, [quote]

being in austin i get to see willie frequently.  let me give you some free advice.  amend your statement by saying you want to see willie when he's NOT messed up.  he gives a great performance, when sober, but if he's on anything, his show is worse than a teenage garage band.

now if you ever get the chance to see robert earl keen, no matter what the cost, go to the show!  i've seen him play in front of a packed house and in front of about 20 people.  doesn't matter to him , you get the same energy!  he's a great show!

i would have loved to see johnny cash in his prime, alas i was too young.  i did get to see merle, but he was old and broken down.
another i would have loved to see is frank sinatra!

oh yeah, another great show is the brian setzer orchestra!  talk about a hot ticket!  i saw him in august at an outdoor stadium.  was about 50 feet from the stage.  the entire band was wrigning wet with sweat, but they kept right on pouring out the effort!

i guess living in the "live music capital of the world" has it's advantages!

Crapola, I did this once, but the system logged me out for some wierd reason, and it didn't post.  :banghead:

*George Jones

*Loretta Lynn

*Merle Haggard

*Dwight Yoakum ( I love that guys style....... and his jeans, haha)

*Dixie Chicks (I saw them when they were brand new, and I'd love to see em again)

*Skynyrd Band (who.... are coming to town this summer)  :dancin:

*Tanya Tucker

*KT Tunstall (I LOVE her style)

Nevermind...... I could go on too long. Too many I want to see, I've never been to very many concerts.

I would have loved to have seen Johnny Cash, and Tammy Wynette, and of course Elvis.... but, I see him in my dreams all the time anyhow.  :D

1. Moody Blues

2. Wilson Phillips

3. Barbra Streisand

4. Gibson Brothers (amazing bluegrass band)

5. Chicago

AND .... I wish I would have had a chance to see the TEMPTATIONS perform.  They are my #1 favorite Motown group of all times.

I've seen the Doobie Brothers, Celine Dion, Kathy Mattea, Michael Bolton, and Kenny Rogers ... and a few others... but I don't get to too many concert either, Charmin.

No, now that's not what I meant at all, you've got me figured all wrong Eben.

He wears ripped up tattered faded jeans..... which I love on a guy..... and he does these dance moves in those jeans that just..... (use your imagination here, LoL)..... I love to watch him sing- and move around in those jeans while he plays his guitar. That's all, totally innocent.

Shame on you and your dirty mind!! ...."How he fills his jeans".... I'm insulted!!  :D
