I have lived in SoCal for couple of years and it was like another country to me. I think, in general, SoCal people don't like living in NorCal and vice versa. It's a cultural thing. I liked some parts of SoCal and it's a great place to visit but I would have hard time fitting in to the area.

Both Charmin and I live in Canby, Oregon which is in the Northern Willamette Valley. This area sounds similar to areas of NorCal  We are between the Cascade Mts. and the Pacific (somewhat closer to the Cascades).  We have moderate summer temperatures but too much rain and not as much snow as NorCal probably.  There's lots of farm area and orchards.  I'm sure I'd like NorCal too.

Although I have lived in LA for more than half my life, I do prefer Northern California, especially Monterey, which I have considered moving to.. North and South are like two different countries....

Bigdog, please make up your mind if you hate women or not.  I never thought you would say you had a GIRLFRIEND.

Hmm, if you can afford one of those houses on the 8 mile drive, would you adopt me?

I too have been southern California most all my life and I thought they were different countrys  LOL I hope she finds our Karaoke clubs to her liking, I am in the San bernardino area and have found a couple of great places with some good singers I like a club that makes the karaoke the main event not a live jukebox to pool tables etc

I made it back home in one piece!!!  LOL   LA was great.  Joyce was a wonderful hostess!   I did get the horns blown at me several times telling me to get out of their way.....   And oh yes...Don't forget on my drive back to the airport I picked up my directions to check to see which exit I was suppose to take and I see a cop car beside me...All of a sudden I hear..."Put that reading material down on the freeway".....   Thought I was gonna get a ticket right there....   But I made it.   I had a great time!!   I met Rob (QboyVern) and Sheree and of course Joyce (Cantstopsinging) and let me tell you....Those are three awesome people!!!!

Seriously.... the traffic on those freeways are brutal! I was in it today and I'll be in it again tomorrow... heading to LAX early in the morning. Wish me luck!  :drums:

Awhile back I met a really nice person in a stationary Musician's bboard.  He was an LA Sgt. who was a detective in one of the precincts (assuming that's the correct term).  His tagline was "Visit LA, we'll treat you like a King". I was never quite sure what to make of his "humor"  :shock:  Strange SOH too.  Another guitarist went to visit a few of the LA guitarists;  at the airport they knew who he was prior to him having a chance to figure out who they were. This cop set up something where they stormed in, acted official and cuffed their "friend" and took him into a place where they were jamming, apparently making it appear as though it was a legitimate case of mistaken identity.  Something like that anyway.  A little far-fetched yet apparently they startled Jeff when he arrived at LAX.




Yeah,  That wasn't very nice of you !

Ah-ha! YOU took my bikini! Here I accused Mikey .... since he was wearing a very similar one!  LOL Check my album ... I think I posted all his bikini shots there!  LOL Now that you mention it.... I wish I had called you! Darn it!  :dunce:  The three days seemed to pass waaaay too fast! The small plane Mikey and I flew from Denver to Pueblo was pretty turbulent and scary!  :shock: As we left Pueblo to get on that same scary flight... a Richie Valens song played over the loud speakers as we boarded... I swear!  :pray: Then... while going through security.. Mikey realized he had lost his ticket! Thank God he found it in the rest room! (It was such a small airport... he was lucky it was still there!) But it almost seemed like a bad omen! Thankfully we both made it to Denver and onto our separate ways. Three days just doesn't seem long enough .... but it was great! Next year you had BETTER be there missy... or I'm coming to get ya hell or high water! Bikinis? We don't need no stinkin' bikinis!  :swg:
