I once heard a girl sing "Tyrone" (by Erykah Badu, if I'm remembering right) and when she sang the line "Call Tyrone", she held up her cell phone.  I thought that was rather clever.

Ok, I have been thinking about props for a while. I even thought of bringing my cheap electric guitar and a prop but knowing drunk people, decided against it.

So, I went and got the entire set of props recently. Blow up guitars and saxes. Maracas for everyone and a couple of tamborines. I usually give out trinkets for trivias but decided to do something more. I got a ton of beads for people who sing. I got a special mirror ball necklace for those who sang for the first time in their life. Next gig should be fun!!  :D

The props have been nice for me because I can include some people who
don't sing. For ex: they'll come up and use the maracas during Margarittaville.
It helps keep more people involved and feeling like a star for the night.

Last night this little old man came on stage with the Maracas and brought the house down. He was hysterical. I know it made his day.
