I love new toys -

I just bought 2 blow up guitars and some maracas. The patrons are having a blast
with these things. It is the best $18 I ever spent for my business.  LMAO

For birthdays in the past I'd go to the party store and get pink fluffy tiaras. LMAO
I love being able to do this. The guys even where them. I used to be able to buy them for about $3 a piece, but now their about $5. It is getting a little expensive since I have any where from 1- 5 birthdays a week.
I've been searching on the net to buy some in bulk, but can't find the same style. I
don't want something that's to chinsy looking. The one b-day hat I love is a cake with candles. But again they are $5 a piece.

Does anyone know of a on line store to buy party supplies in bulk that isn't the normal google stores?

Do you guys do anything similiar?

Been using inflatables, (MUSIC instruments. LOL.) for about 5 years now.  They are great fun.  Guitars, bangos, trumpets, saxs, and key boards.  the guitars and the sax get the most use.  You can Google and find several different companies.  I usually check on eBay.  Find most of my deals there.  Average cost comes out to about $1.50 a piece.

Have quite a few folks who (with permission from the singer) get on stage and "play back up."  It's quite comical and intertaining.

I have used the following link for several parties and they seem to be reasonable for this type of stuff. http://www.orientaltrading.com

They are great for theme party stuff

Hope this helps

LMAO Flipper - that is were I bought my guitars and maracas.
I get the catalog too.

I'm thinking of buying a couple birthday cake hats and hoping
people will return them at the end of the night. What do you think?

I saw a bunch of women get up and use some of those a few months ago.  I think these women brought them in, though.

I seem to remember going to one karaoke place a long time ago where they did have a guitar that people could pretend to play.  Most of the places where I've been, though, they don't have anything like that.

LOL It's a small world isn't it

They do a great job with processing orders and their prices seem in line. The only thing I did not like was that they bombard me with catalog mailings but they are a good source for this kind of stuff.

I do several theme parties each year for BBQ's and such. When I sit down with the customer to plan the event I show them the catalogs. They can order the stuff or I can.

As soon as I get my website completed I'm gonna set up a direct link to them and they will give me a % of each order my customer places.

I think the birthday cake hat idea is great!  Most folks will return them if you tell them that they are on loan for the evening. If they wish to purchase it outright you will cut them a deal to buy at your cost. Usually someone is hosting the party for the birthday person and you can make the deal with them.

There is another link that I'm looking for that is another great source. As soon as I find it I wil post it here.

Three rubbermaid tubs full of props, toys, and costumes.  Shows not the same without them.

Get down, get funky...I am the man of a thousand props.  I have Geetars, wigs, blow up this and that including a 4' palm tree for people singing Margerettaville.  I have a hundred different props including wigs, loads of bling, funny hats, glasses etc.

As I tell the story I have my Aircestra(blow up intsruments), the only problem is you have to blow them first before they will play. :drums:

Lots of fun for all, I am the only guy in my area that does this, it added lots to the entertainment value of shows. :dancin:

Flipper, don't put the link up, tell them you can supply them with the stuff for a small markup.

When I give them the link on my website it will go to my affiliate account and when they purchase I will make a mark up on whatever they buy. The company will cut me a check for my commission. That way I do not have to track the orders or do the fulfillment of the order. I prefer this method as it has minimal bookeeping for tax purposes.

Your way will work too  :D but I really dont want to have to remember to do all the entries. This way I only have to track the income.

I often use props and giveaways at parties.  Not so much props in the bars, giveawys sometimes.  I've purchased from oriental as well.

After Halloween, when the specialty shops close down is a good time to get hats and the like.  Hulla hoops - Walmart or Toys 'R Us, when on sale (they get abused!).

Babs - For giveaways  you might want to check out American Science & Surplus as well - they are on Rt. 38 near Kirk Rd. in Geneva. They have some pretty odd stuff. http://www.sciplus.com/   Also, Osco sometimes puts out a $.25 sales cart - I purchased a bunch of NASCAR clipboards/notepads, CD wallets, candles, recorders and other prizes last week.

I do a little giveaways as well, just a little trinkets. I usually ask a couple of music relate trivia question and first one with the right answer gets the trinket. I am thinking of getting some cheap T-shirts made from China and give them away as well. I found a source for it for less than $5 per shirt. Now I have to just get off my behind and get it done.
