Who needs music in a place like that...I'd take something interesting to read....a tattooed woman!...or maybe the whole volume!

Hmmm... I've had to answer this one before on a different site. Not an easy question.
1. Neil Young & Crazy Horse - Ragged Glory : BC Neil Young is awesome and I love the song "Farmer John."
2. A mix cd (of course) with songs that are personal between me and my bf, like "Little Moments" (Brad Paisley); "Only Hope" (Mandy Moore); some Savage Garden songs, etc. : Pretty self explanatory
3. Alanis Morissette - Jagged Little Pill : Nice anger cd that could come in handy when I feel down about being stranded...
4. Lynyrd Skynyrd - Greatest Hits (or something to that nature) : Best southern rock band EVER!
5. Garth Brooks - The Hits : I love the song "Shameless" and the rest of the songs are great also... (but "Shameless" is definately the best!)
I'll have to think about what the rest would be... I'd probably want to mix my own cd's so I get the songs that I love all together!

Who's Next
Houses of the Holy
The Yes Album
Associations greatest hit's
Stylistic's greatest hit's
Johnny Winter and
Badfinger-Straight Up
Moody Blues Greatest Hit's
Chicago Greatest Hit's
Boston Hit's
That'd be fine for me.

what am i going to use cd's for? to reflect the sun so i can start a fire? i have nothing to play them on. also i have no battereis, and if i do have batteries, i used them to start a fire. oh, hypothetically?
well then, i'd take my own demo cd (conceited i know!)
judas priest - stained class
george strait - strait out of the box (box set of four...does that count as one or four?)
journey - escape
jun-ichi kamiyama - etoile spring fantasy (this is an indescribable cd, but i will try to describe it. the composer took a music staff, held it to the sky and played the notes of the corresponding stars. it is very soothing. if anyone is having trouble sleeping i higly reccomend finding this cd. he has a set of four, but spring is my favorite)
a burned cd with motown artists like barry white, luther vandross, etc
a burned cd with all local artists like stevie ray vaughn, keb mo, robert earl keen, pat green, toni price etc. (inidentally, if you haven't heard texas music lately, you should check into it! there's some great music here and it's varied from country to folk to bluegrass to rock to blues to rockabilly, etc. try this website http://www.blockweb.com/austinradiolinks/ to find local stations and what they're playing

Somebody bring a boat too, also a fridge and computer with a long extention chord. There's this place I hang out online see, I'd get bored otherwise.. Keith can stay with the woman and batteries.. I'd just assume leave the island and come back home. Air Conditioning is alot nicer. Here, you guy's can keep my ten CD's too. You'll get sick of them too after the woman !

Are these illegally burned or down loaded CDs or legal ones? I'm sorry, I just couldn't resist.
Beatles, Bryan Adams, Billy Joel, Boston, Aerosmith, Journey, Tom Petty, Moody Blues, Motown, Billboard top 40's from 60's, 70's, 80's.

I have been in THAT situation many times during the course of my work. Total isolation from no other human kind for 3 weeks. Deep in the forest. What keep me going is music.
I then listen to,
Carpenters
Brian Adam
Air Supply
Rod Steward
And normally a compilation songs tapes (3-5 tapes)

Jethro Tull : Songs From The Wood : Great to Dream on while on the beach
Jethro Tull : Thick as a Brick : A story to listen to while sitting under the palms
Yes : Yessongs : great to listen to anywhere
Yes : Going For the one : Cool for fishing tunes
Pink Floyd : momentary Lapse of reason : good for if I find any weed on the Island
Pink Floyd : The Wall : same reason as above
Led Zepplin : Zepplin ll : who could live without this classic?
Cheech and Chong : Big Bambu : for some humor
Carole King : Tapistry : one of the Best albums Ever

I'd bring records, I think they'd take longer to burn.

Geesh, people with little imagination. Think if you have the Professor from the Gilligan's Island with you and he built you one of those bike that provides power to your personal CD player. LOL How's that?
I personally would take only the best of CDs.
1. the Who
2. Eagles
3. Harry Chapin
4. Buckwheat Zydeco
5. Billy Joel
6. Elton John
7. Soundtrack from the Commitments
8. Shania Twain
9. Grover Washington Jr.
10. Soundtrack from Les Miserable
Pretty much all over the place. It's a tough choice though. I may change per my mood but those I usually listen to all the time.

/sigh. Maybe I should have said which 10 CDs/artists are your favorite? I just wanted to find out music taste of people here. Can we just do that and forget about power requirements, ipod versus CDs, women (well don't forget them) booze or whatever....

I'd take either Ginger or Maryanne. But I'd likely not even score these day's with Thurston Howell the 3rd's wife.
