No joke...One town in England has installed a computer network and fingerprint scanners in many of the bars/clubs.

Each patron is scanned at the door and their prints are stored on the network computer....If they make trouble in one bar, it gets noted instantly and all other bar owners will see it when the customer then tries to enter another bar.

Think how easy it would be for a doorman to enter false info on a person and then exclude him from all the clubs on the network....And think how that false info might then be used to further harm the person if it 'leaked' out of the network to his/her employer or other folks.

..... some places will scan the little barcodes on driver's licenses and id cards for the same reason..... they store all kinds of crap about you just by having your DL #

it is a little unsettling, but then again.... what more info could they have that's not readily available on the internet?

that is scary, i never heard of that...wait till they put that same barcode on the palm of ur hand, sure getting closer, this is an eye opener to me, lordy...

Don't know about your state, but we already have barcodes on our DL, not used outside of police enforcement & DMV at this time (that I know of).

It could be used against you in court.   The bar owners know exactly when and where you were.  Drunk driving and such.   If they would need the info to protect themselves.   It sure will keep down the unruliness.  Don't know if I like all the other implications.

Sorry, but I've never needed additional laws that risk to my privacy to feel safe.

Things like this give folks a false sense of security at tremendous expense.

Thats where spellcheck does help.

I am used to those Law intruding into my life. You may not believe me but there is a bank here that thumbprint you when you withdraw your money from your account.
We all have to carry a credit card size IC which have chip that contain all the personal particular of the holder. You get scaned every where you go.
