Being on top of the heat exchanger would have surely cooked him if he couldn't have gotten out. He's one lucky Chinese dinner.

I don't understand cats. I almost lost an eye to a Siamese cat when I was around 3. I've even been bullied by peoples cat's.. They are devious little things. Yet outside of not understanding them (also being deathly allergic to their dander) I can't say much, because I know so many love these animals... I had bad luck with cats when young, aside from allergies, I never saw much except semi-domestic yet also semi-wild animals... Yet many bond with them, and cat's are their lives, so I know nothing.... If I never took the time to take in birds as pets, I'd never have understood what truly amazing animals they are either, so I suppose because of health probs, I can't actually ever give a cat a fair chance, so it's not fair I judge them as pets....Whether I don't have a "cat" personality, perhaps....but if a three year old isn't supposed to pick them up by that long handle in the back....Why is it there ? That animal had a terrible attitude !
This is a DEADLY combo.... A 2-3 year old angry male child feeling alot of aggression vs. a Siamese cat.... Nasty stare-downs..... The cat didn't like me, I didn't like it.... The cat ultimately won. Why the adults didn't spot what was about to happen, God only knows... I'm wondering if that was my mom's cat, I don't recall.. or was it a neighbors ? Very hazy.... Some serious jealousy going on tho....I think it was a cat, might've been a Hamster, can't recall.. I suppose it's a good thing the folks didn't have a jealous Large Macaw Parrot... I'd have been out a few fingers... They are tough for a youngster to grab onto !

sheree - I love your avatar. It is nice to know I'm not the only cat lover.
Kappy - You hit it on the nose. Any person I've ever met that hated cats either
never had one or had bad experience with a cat usually a stray. Cats are like
people they have many different personalities.
My mom raized siamese and Himalayan cats. Siamese tend to be more to themselves especially if they grow up in a house without attention. Hylalayans are lazy, but super loving. I have Sphynx cats which have a personality like a dog, but are smarter than a dog which is so cool.
Feral cats are a whole different story. If a kitten hasn't had human contact before it is an adult it is wild (feral). Not a cat I'd ever go near. It is like approaching a raccoon.
Cats are a product of their envirement if they have been abused or had very little love in their lives they can be mean, just like people.
I've had friends that were cat haters until they met my cats. 2 of them have cats of their own now.
Kappy - I am allergic to cats also, but love them so much I ended up finding a breed
I could tolerate, hairless.
I have 3 older brothers. Big macho guys over 6" tall. They all have cats and no dogs.
Although one brother has a Mancoon which is 28lbs. An average cat weighs 8-9lbs.
So you can imagine the size of this thing, but my brother would shed tears, I'm sure if something happened to it.

Only thing that really bothers me about cat's, is that it's tough to like certain other species, yet still like the preditory species such as cats... I don't like the way they kill birds, and other species.... Yet who am I too talk, I also eat poultry and meat. So my attempted post is moot...
Bab's. If those Canadian hairless cat's are ENTIRELY non-allergic animals, I might seriously consider one... At least for awhile (meaning since these aren't common pets, if for some reason the cat, and I didn't get along for whatever reason, the owners would be willing to take the animal back after a certain trial period.. I don't like risks such as taking a pet (that can live almost 20 years) only to find there are personality probs between the two of us.

At least for awhile {meaning since these aren't common pets, if for some reason the cat, and I didn't get along for whatever reason, the owners would be willing to take the animal back after a certain trial period, there's really little way to familiarize myself with such a rare species}.. I don't believe in getting rid of things that I've taken in, it's not my personality.... Trial and error I don't like with living things.... If it doesn't work it's so often not fair to the animal

Anyway, an apology to Don. Having had pet's I realize that some of us DO take it personally at times when other's make comments regarding a particular species we have bonded with..
Although I'm guilty of being the first to have made a wise-crack in poor taste (NO, don't go there!!!) I certainly didn't intend on being the catalyst for a "cat bashing" thread. I've gotten close to pet's, have suffered their loss to a MUCH greater extent than when hearing of the death of most people I've known, and during lonely times our pet (whether cat, dog, bird, rabbit) can mean the world to us... I don't want to ever give the impression that I'm not aware of the strong pet bond that occur's, by my own perceived callousness regarding something that means alot to another person, such as a species that although *I* might not have bonded with, MANY other's have.. It's easy to step on people's toes on the internet at times when we don't know the feelings of others in specific areas that are among us.
How can I hate a pet species ? There are some people in my life so much more deserving of hate, I only have so much hate to go around anyway ! Animals are honest.. It's humans that are evil.
Sorry Don.

, I'm almost tempted. The condo association deserves that ! As a matter of fact, there's nothing in the By Laws, or district ordinances that states a horse isn't the ideal pet for someone living in a 700 sq ft one bedroom condo ! They don't bark alot, nor do they bite mailmen, I'm allocated two parking spaces (of which only one is taken up)...
Hmmm  Assuming I declare the horse "limited common property", I can even attach a satellite dish to it's butt, as well as amateur radio antennae's..
The 1996 Shivia act doesn't state you can't attach a satellite dish to your horse !
Only problem I'd anticipate Keith, is Veternarians in CT wouldn't know what it is
Most of them have never seen a horse before.
I can just imagine
"Dr Hackett, Mr Kaplan's here with his Great Dane again, and it's paws are scuffing up the nice tile in the waiting room making that clicking sound again"
