I don't play people's cd's it's too much of a pain. I run from a computer ant there is no good computer software that will play cd+g's in my notebooks.

When I ran my show from cd's not an issue.

Yes, there is good software that can play a CDG on a computer, if your CD drive is karaoke compatiable.  It is a plugin from winiamp, the CDG disck player plugin from Yannic http://www.winamp.com/plugins/details.php?id=141804

It cost like $20 or so, and works great, but I have only used the trial version on my home PC.

I too run off computer, and people can bring in their CDGs if they want, but I can't, and even if I could I won't use them.  I had problems whan I was disc based of people forgetting their discs at the bar, or balming me for scratching their discs.  I remidy this having them tell me what songs they want, I will try my best to get them, the next time I order a custom CDG.

I have a disclaimer written on the booth & in the books, your discs are ok, however we nor the club are responsible for any damages that may occur.  Also any disc left in our possession over 30 days become the property of Lonman Productions.

Never have a problem or accusation since these signs went up & actually gained a couple discs out of it (if I know who left them I would let them know & usually they would come & get them) - although I did wait almost 90 days before actually taking posession.

I had a guy come fairly regular to my karaoke.    He was a nice guy and a good singer.    He brought in two of his own discs one night.   He sang off of them and disappeared without me seeing him leave.   I carried those discs with me for six months hoping to give them back.    He did show up in the sixth or seventh month.   He had an accident and lost an eye.   I gave him his discs and never saw him again.
