Not good, somebody's keeping an eye out for something other than the terrorists!
"From CNN.com:
Child sex sting nabs DHS spokesman
Brian J. Doyle faces 23 charges in the case.
A deputy press secretary for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security was arrested today at his Maryland home on charges he used his computer in an attempt to seduce a child and transmitted harmful materials to a minor, according to the Polk County, Florida, Sheriff's Office."
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tom Delay states that he's not going to run again for office.
Now when I look at Tom Delay's mug shot picture, I'm not seeing the same thing he is. Maybe I'm looking in some bad lighting or something.
Here's a remark Tom Delay made about his "smiling mug shot" in a Time magazine interview:
"TIME: Your smiling mug shot—what made you think of that and what do you think the consequence of that has been?
DeLay: Oh, I don't know. I said a little prayer. First of all, you only get one take. It's a very humiliating thing, to be booked. And I said a little prayer before I actually did the fingerprint thing, and the picture. And my prayer was basically: "Let people see Christ through me. And let me smile." Now, when they took the shot, from my side, I thought it was fakiest smile I'd ever given. But through the camera, it was glowing. I mean, it had the right impact. Poor old left couldn't use it at all. They had all kind of things planned, they'd spent a lot of money. It made me feel kind of good that all those plans went down the toilet.
TIME: So what would you do differently?
DeLay: Nothing."
If anybody has any other rather difficult to fathom quotes or stories, go ahead any post them.

Hmmmm... well, Idk about any mug shots, but I have a piece of rather useless info. Today (wednesday) at 1:02am and three seconds the time was 1:02:03 and the date was 04:05:06... so essentially it was 1:02:03-04:05:06... cool beans.

Yeah, unfortunately it's true! Just go to CNN.com right now in fact. It's the headline story.

I think maybe Mr. Delay should have been praying for some ethics and honor rather than smiling for his mug shot.
On the other topic-- sheesh -- what is wrong with people?

Here's an update on this story:
The police officer in the sting operation was posing as a 14 year old girl. When Mr. Doyle, age 55, an agent in the Affairs Department of Homeland Security asked her why she was home on a school day, the officer ("girl") said that she had to stay home often because she had leukemia. Mr. Doyle decided to send her a box of chocolates, some compromising photos of himself and clearly identified himself in the photos as a Homeland Security agent.
Perverse and not too bright all in the same package.

Why didn't I think of that !!
For some reason, I find that to be a clever observation ! Yet I'm not hard to entertain !

Tom Cruise has announced that he was a victim of high school bullies.
Now I can relate to this a bit because of my past high school experiences. I hope that some how, some way, Tom will make it through another day. Can you?

Something just doesn't smell right about the situation with the DHS guy. My conspiracy theory alert is flashing red.
Ok, he's a pretty high up guy in DHS (dep. press sec.). Even if he's a sicko and wants to prey on teens, why oh why would he send pictures of himself that identify him (e.g. with a badge)? Why would he send his contact numbers? office, cell, home (if I remember correctly). And in the press reports, they specifically stated that they found evidence of the stuff on his computer. All that could be faked if you really wanted to. Could somebody like that really be that stupid and twisted yet still be somebody they'd hire at DHS?
It could fit with the MO of political operatives-- just look at the MO-- We don't like you so we smear you-- Val Plame case, 04 election (swift boat stuff), Brownie (although he deserved what he got-- dufus) . I know there are few others, can't remember them right now tho.

Hmm... If Mr. Doyle was being framed and made to look like some kind of pedophile creep, I'd be wondering what did he do to deserve this treatment? Another conspiracy theory would be that maybe he was singled out to be a distraction that the news media could latch onto. This would take people's minds off of even more pressing issues (temporarily anyway). But still, the odds are that this guy is so out of touch and somehow thought he could not possible get caught! Scooter Libby,
Bill O'Reilly and Lynne Cheney have all written soft core porn novels. At least they managed to keep things confined only to print.

Here's a new one that's hard to believe:
At a school in Maynard, Massachusetts two five year old girls got into trouble for hugging each other. According to a teacher, one of the girls gave a "bear hug" causing the other girl to be lifted off the ground two or three inches. :fright: The girls were made to write on a piece of paper that they did not like being hugged by each other. (The teacher also corrected their spelling for good measure). The other kids in the class were told to write a note to their parents explaining what had happened --probably in case more testimony was needed against the two girls who were being punished.
Back when I was five or so I remember being punched in the stomach at school and having the wind knocked out of me by Randy Zelinka. Hugs are sounding pretty darn good.

Along that line. My Nephew (who is like 10) was recently suspended. Why you ask?
He put a paper clip on a rubber band and was goofing around with it. The teacher said it was a potential weapon and since they have zero tolerance, they suspended him. Give me a freakin' break. Come on guys, we all goofed around with stuff like that when we were 10-- 10 year old boys are mess with everything. That doesn't make it dangerous.

Judge blasts government secrecy :
Moussaoui judge grants 9/11 families access to documents
From Phil Hirschkorn
CNN
Friday, April 7, 2006; Posted: 3:43 p.m. EDT (19:43 GMT)
ALEXANDRIA, Virginia (CNN) -- The judge in the Zacarias Moussaoui trial ruled Friday that families of September 11 attack victims are entitled to the same UNCLASSIFIED aviation security documents the government turned over to the al Qaeda conspirator's defense team.
"I've always been troubled to the extent which our government keeps things secret from the American people," U.S. District Judge Leonie Brinkema said, granting the families' request after a hearing.
"It is amazing what some agencies think is secret," Brinkema added. "As a culture, we need to be careful not to be so wrapped up in secrecy that we lose track of our core values and laws."
Brinkema's order followed a hearing requested by 9/11 families, whose 2002 wrongful death and negligence lawsuit is making its way through a federal court in New York.
"Isn't it somewhat ironic that the families of 3,000 people killed can't see what the person who participated in the killing can?" plaintiffs' attorney Ron Motley said outside court. "We're just asking to see what Moussaoui's guys saw, that's all."

Holy crap!! That's so ridiculous!!
The boys in my class used to make sling shots with rubber bands..... the "ammo" was a piece of paper folded 90 million times to make it good n hard then they'd whip it at people!! !! nobody got suspended over that!! I did get a good welt on my leg though!
the only thing kids got suspended for in school was for smoking on school grounds.... or fighting.... or smackin' the teacher or something..... but for stickin a paperclip on a rubber band? How fricken stupid!
