Quote: Looks like the Carpet you may find in Kappy's house. old yellow long Shag carpet from the 70's
Thing is Michael, those were fabulous carpets !!! I miss the days shag carpeting was affordable... Yep, I had shag carpeting !! Still looking for affordable shag carpeting for the condo... Something that'll go with the Paneling, and black light posters ! I might upgrade to ricepaper, maybe even foil too ! I've heard glass and chrome is in... Rumor has it next trend will be Burgundy, and grey carpet/decor scheme... I'm thinking of getting velveteen seat covers for my green plaid couch..

We had green varigated shag growing up...First we had to vacuum it and then we had to rake it....Ugh!!!! I am so glad I don't have shag now....Vacuuming is bad enough!!!

That's a good point Sharon, I never raked mine.... I just fluffed it with my toes....I suppose if I had shag carpeting today, I wouldn't really be able to use the brush head of the Kirby on it... It'd probably rip the yarn right out've the base....

How lucky you were that you didn't rake yours. We used a good old fashioned leaf rake on ours. Mom insisted that it all be sticking up all the time.... Sometimes me and my brother would rake it and not vacuum...I know we were bad children...but hey it was better than other things we did....
Heck there were even times when I just wanted to try and strap that rake on my back so that everytime I walked accross the floor it would rake behind me.......

You realize how many of todays kid's will never experience walking barefoot thru decent quality shag or plush carpeting ? 0r even know the pleasure of walking on a backwards tilt wearing earthboots ? Getting friction burns from wearing clogs ? (that don't come for wider feet). Poor younger generations :( Never irritated a hangnail on a rotary dial telephone, or even got to stick a steel cent in a penny loafer.
I can't go on ! It's just too painful.. :(
Or trade in their Shell Mr. President coin collection for a Wilson Duke football, that S&H plaid stamp company (A&P) ran out've... or was A&P "green stamps" ? Not sure.... Yet how many kids today know the pleasures of getting their @$$es beat for putting their fathers Briggs & Stratton 2.5 HP Lawn mower engine on their new Boyslife minibike frame ? or sticking bubble gum between the pages of your sisters Nancy Drew series ? or hollowing out "Hardy Boys" books and bringing bubble gum to school to bribe the 6th graders to beat up someone you don't like ?? Kid's in todays high tech world just don't know what they missed....
Or keying a CB power microphone while driving past radio controlled plane lots ?
I can't go on

Base ball cards in my bike spokes.........Stck Ball.......Stoop Ball.... ........assemeling mousetrap without ever playing the game...
.removing the funny bone without touching the sides...bending the little prongs on the bottom so the football player holding the cotton football didnt just go around in circles......
looking desperatly around my sisters room for that piece I needed to put in the middle of my 45 so I could play it...... taping a penny to the top of the needle arm to stop it from skipping......
Staying up late to watch the honeymooners....

Yep, I took that one (and a few others). Kinda low tech. I used a "normal" kind of light (a flashlight or something if I remember correctly) and tried to get the light inside the flowers to give them a "glow" from the inside. The background is a black table cloth over a box or something. I messed with exposure and shutter too.
