Aiwa only made this unit for 2 years (1995 & 1996) then discontinued it.
They did make some units after that with the karaoke vocal fader switch on them.
But the later models could not connect to a TV and have graphics appear on screen and did not have key changer like the one I had.
If your model has the Letter "G" after the number then it is the same unit. "G" stands for graphics.

On ebay you don't always get what you paid for even if you think you are buying shure brand. There are alot of knockoffs out there.
I agree with you. I never pay attention to the ad hypes usually. I try to see it for myself and have bought crap in the past and had to throw them away. A good example is VHF based wirelss mics. I will never buy them, alway UHF and only if they sound good.
As for those mics, I bought one to try it out as a cheap alternative to other mics. I figured that if it sounded like crap, I was out like $35 and lessons learned. I have a couple of musician friends who use Shure SM-58, one even brought one to my gig to compare and we all agree that it was no worse than SM-58 at half the cost. So, I bought a few more to use.
I just thought I'd share my experience with the product. _________________

I think the SM-58 is a good mic for live purposes and I would also suggest the PG-58. Mics are VERY personal, if you have a very smooth voice you will want to stay away from this sm-58, people might fall a sleep in the audience, not enough clarity on this mic! Also, not a good choice for recording or less you want to scream!

I see it, but I have never heard of a mic being damage if you use an unbalance connection. Just can't figure out the physic of it. The signal is flowing FROM the mic to the board, so how can the mic get spoilt?

It's only saying IF you are running phantom power (which you won't with most mics unless you buy a "condensor" mic) then if anything is connected to the mic inputs via unbalanced connectors, it could & will damage the mic as it is sending a power signal back to the mic.

I have another ? for you guys.........
is it imperative that i hook my mic into the amp/mixer or can i hook in into my player instead? Would either way be ok?

PA stuff is used in more than just karaoke & and no I don't know everything, there is always something new I learn (or even get corrected on) every day as well about electronic gear & equipment. I've been running sound for bands since I was 16 & have been into sound equipment all my life. I just go on personal experience from equipment i've used & tested & pass on that experience &/or knowledge that I can give.

I have one condensor cord mic and a wirless mic that doesnt require the phantom power. Am I damaging my wireless buy running the phantom power on my mackie? I need to run it or I wont be able to use the cord mic. :shock:

It shouldn't be hurting your wireless as long as 1 condensor mic is connected to the mixer while the phantom power is switched on.
