It's VERY hard to be objective, yet still, It's a good thing to strive to be at times. Sometimes I like to wonder, "What would it be like to have the character or constitution a judge SHOULD have when on the bench"? and as I've stated, how *I* personally feel about alcohol, guns, and MANY issues is NOTHING I'd wish to impinge on other's who are of course... NOT ME. Here's the reason. What I believe I might know regarding alcohol based upon MY own experiences, can't hold up in such a debate.. Same with gun laws.. This is why discussion/debate CAN be interesting, assuming it doesn't get to ad hom. type antics.  I ATTEMPT to see things clearly taking into consideration that my personal perspective IS NOT the only one, NOR is it necessarily the correct one. Subjects where emotion clutters me, and there are LOADS  :(   I become passionate with, and CAN'T see things quite so clearly.  When I was moderating certain rooms I had to bite my lip so hard at times it bled.. Seriously.. We ALL have a right to our view.. Which is why it takes many CLEAR thinking individuals to legislate (one would only hope)

Interesting discussion all, and it DID remain quite civil considering how volatile this topic is....KUDOS ROOM !!  This isn't an easy type discussion to keep THIS civil ! Despite the few side comments !

I for sure think... that KS is comprised for the most part.... of good people. We can touch on ANY topic, and it may get a bit defensive & heated here and there..... but for the most part-

I think alot of us have truly become CLOSER friends and confidantes by speaking our minds and getting glimpses of what's INSIDE each other (behind the keyboard and monitor). And I think it's great that even when sparks fly.... it can still end on a good note, with no real harm done.

PEOPLE?!?! Are we KS younguns finally growing up and acting like adults?  :shock:

Shyguy? if that be the case then i to am sorry for ur loss buttttt, ur going about it all wrong, why not go out and picket the bars, hold ur little sign up protesting instead of making a stand here where it doesn't count,  not a person here agrees with drinking and driving, and i'm sure u know that.

no one likes knowing there son r sons were killed from friendly fire either but it happens alot, a death is a death and most can be pervented, now what r YOU doing to prevent further deaths due to drinking?  being a prick on here sure isn't helping.

i have read other comments from you on other threads,  your a prick on them to, so its not just the drinking and driving....do something to help NOT hurt, u want people coming in YOUR house checking to see IFFFFF u MIGHT have beer in ur freg.? COULD COME TO THAT. hope not...

i'm willing to bet YOU have had a few drinks in ur day, driving r not, should u have been locked up for that?  

as hard is it is to say and i know loseing a son/daughter to a drunk driver has to be unreal to deal with,  but do you now blame EVERYONE that drinks? is it no longer enough just to get the drunk drivers off the streets?  u want to also target drinkers period?  in this i think ur wrong....

to lose a son/daughter to a disease where there just isn't enough money to reserach is that fair? do we now blame the gov. for NOT putting the money out for that person?  who's wrong there? surely someone is...the list is long....
again sorry for ur lost if thats the case but find some other way to channel ur anger that will do the most good, its not working here.... take care

But I think- in his last post- he agreed to bow out of the conversation as gracefully as he could. And I think, for the most part, the heaviness of the disagreements are died down.... Just a thought.
