I don't know why guys are so afraid to dye their hair - it looks great!!
Gosh - I've been dying my hair since I was 22 yrs old.
If I'd let it grow out now I would look like the bride of frankenstein.

you guys crack me up
Sounds like it was a fun time!
Nice head job Dave...the color looks good.
At 50 so far all I have to color is the mustache due to it being almost white/silver color. But the hair on my head is still the same color as it was in my 20's (not one gray hair). When the gray on my head starts I color it as long as I can find a color that looks natural otherwise I will just leave the gray.

Not sure about the market of hair dye today, yet not too long ago to lighten your hair wasn't healthy because (I believe) some of the lighteners had peroxide or bleach and over time damaged the follicle. It also takes A LOT of time to keep getting at the root area's as they grow out assuming the altered coloration is noticeably different than the natural hair color. The rule used to be, NEVER start dying your hair until you absolutely must because
1: It's NOT healthy for the hair
2: Once you start, you have to keep at it.

Isis is the queen of hair color/dye jobs (color in the mirror may appear differently than on the box). She gets in these funky moods and then I HAVE to color it for her!!

Reaction to the dye job so far here at work:
2-noticed but didn't say anything
1-Noticed, said it looked good
1-didn't notice at all
...and one "WHOA...who the HELL are you?"

I never colored my hair. I never greyed significantly. The time I devote to my head is either spent banging it on my desk, or the application of 5% Minoxydil in hopes that I'll be able to maintain enough hair to worry about greying. I just want to keep my hair, assuming it doesn't enter ROY G BIV phases of spectroscopic color, I'll take white at this point and not worry about it. I never felt coloring it would be worth it. It takes a pretty good eye to know what color goes with pigment etc and upkeep I just don't want to start worrying about. I could understand wanting to color hair if it starts greying fast. Yet there's just too much to mess around with and worry about maintaining in life for me to create another routine when not necessary. Like the toe-nail artwork I had to have retouched with airbrushing when I stubbed my toe while reaching to turn off the light

I've had grey in my hair since about age 8, really noticeable once I was a teen...
I tried coloring it about 12 years ago, well before I joined the Navy...but that attempt was a MASSIVE flop...my dark hair got darker, but the grey didn't take the dye...so they stood out MORE!
While I was in, I had to keep my hair so short I didn't bother with dye...but now that I'm out, I have more hair to play with, so I figured what the heck?
Worst-case scenario: I'd have to shave it all off And I KNOW what I look like with no hair, so...

I'd be petrified of shaving my hair off. It hasn't been in a crewcut since I was 6... I'm afraid I'd shave it off, and have one of those lumpy heads, that looks likes volcano's are growing.. and find this big unsightly vein running down the middle someplace.. Maybe even a nest of deer ticks, or centipede's running around frantically searching for a new shelter !

I just can't get rid of Dave...He is back at my house tonight...I suppose I will have to start charging him rent......
I had to feed him and now he's drinking the beer...Now I am going to cross thread...I hope the copsdon't show up and think this is a bar and do a brethalizer on him and put him in jail for PUblic intoxication...Gosh he is only going from one couch to another in the same room....
Would someone like to take this issue off of my hands???The next thing you know I am going to have to build him his own room onto the back of the house.....
