Where you leaving to Matt? Are you just switching jobs or are you moving out of state? I recall before you said something about moving back east??

Guess I couldn't really blame you if you want to leave Oregon, many people love it here, but I'm so sick of this area that I could  :puke: .
Missouri.

I love the area, but can't get a damned job in karaoke to save my life. And I have prospects lined up for my I.T. career field. I've been working at Freightliner for 11 years, and don't want to leave, but due to recent changes, I have no choice! I'm just not going to sit around and train my replacement! F that!

Now..... how would I know the answer to that? I've heard STORIES.... but I refuse to believe them without solid proof. (so far they refuse to show me the tapes)  :(

I've never lived there, though I have relatives in Missouri... actually, they moved from here as well. And a niece of mine just came from there... she didn't have alot of good to say about the population of St Louis. Of course, there's good and bad EVERYwhere. Gosh knows, I don't care for the population of the Willamette Valley for the most part either.

Is Freightliner making big changes? Lonnie used to deal with them alot when he worked for our family's trucking company.... but that was 9 years ago. Alot of industries are kinda compacting nowadays.
And I hear ya on training the new guy- don't do it unless they offer you a hefty bonus for it.  I left my job, and danged if I don't keep going back in there to help out sometimes..... when they get behind, or someone is sick, they call..... and I go in for the day. I did it again today, and dang, I wish I could make myself say NO next time they ask. I hate hanging on to an old job like that.  Atleast I trained my little sister for my job (she was job searching when I quit)... so it wasn't so bad, it was like I did it for HER, not THEM.  And go figure, now that I officially "don't work there" anymore..... hahaha, he pays me ALOT better when I do go in.

Anyways, listen to me ramble. Maybe something could work out for you around here. (??) There is alot of opportunity here compared to some states.

I'm happy to announce my St. Patty's Karaoke Night was uneventful.
I had a nice group of singers. One of the regulars got drunk and wanted
to fight his best friend, but it was more comical than anything. He is a little old grandpa. We all teased him relentlessy when he came in Sat. night. We were calling him killer. He took the ribbing well.

I have never been to Texas. But I hear everything is bigger there.  LMAO

Don, we've HAD this conversation,  LOL . Don't you recall that big ol' email about the unfairness of living in this area? I sure can't put it all in a post here. I just have some issues with this area is all....... but you know them.

Okay, just for you:

Oregon has got to be one of the most beautiful, green states. We have the valley, the coast, lots of mountains..... great schools and communities to raise your kids in....Great economy for the entrepeneur (sp. ??) , as well as career seekers.... not to mention all the cute cowboys around here.... and gosh, you gotta love those western gals as well.

That good enough? I told you- my issues are on a personal level..... I know there are those of you who have lived here all your lives and would never leave. But I have lived other places.... so my opinion of this place is biased by my oh-so-lengthy travels.  LOL

Where in my question does it say "what don't you like about Oregon".  The question was, "What DO you like about that area of Texas?"  :) It was just a simple question, not a trouble making question.
