I wish I had more time to come here. I am always apologizing for not having time to listen or post. I always enjoy it when I'm here. I just have so little free time and I keep trying to juggle everything....SIGH!!
I rented a video camera this week so I could do a couple of projects, including a video project for JOLT. It is so much fun to record your singing on video and also I always learn so much when I do it. I really recommend it. Maybe one of these days I will actually buy one
Now that I'm through with all this, I hope to record some songs on AUDIO and post them

I think I will post here, with my unwanted opinion, on how I think only pornstars and "wannabes" make "videos" of themselves. I don't know, maybe it is just a generational thing? I just think it is "icky".

lord... i can't even stand to have my picture taken, much less a video! My mom actually snuck in on one of our practice sessions and 'camcorded' me for a few minutes. When I figured out what she was doing I BLEW UP. heheh I later refused to even watch it. Horrid things, video cameras. Of course, I also insist that folks drape their mirrors when I enter a room. heheh

Gilly...I somehow managed to insult you..I wasn't meaning to. I think your tattoo is beautiful. I think I even said that. I just would never get one myself. I am an old fuddy duddy, 44. When I was growing up in the 60's and 70's in California, seriously, no one had tattoos but sailors and lowlifes. I know that is NOT the case now. It's just one of those things, when you are growing up and things are a certian way, it's hard to adjust when you get older and are no longer young and hip (not that I was ever hip
Same as girls wearing low-cut pants that show their cracks, or people who have many piercings. It's just not something I would ever do and I always am a little shocked still when I see it. I know it is quite common now, especially with younger people and celebrities.
I wasn't meaning to sound like I was judging you...sorry about that.
As for being unwanted...well, it's a public forum, and I think the whole point of a forum is to say your opinion and discuss things with other people.

I have had my singing taped for my review and taped by other's who wanted a tape....I also like those low riding jeans (if you got the body for it).....especially like those with nice art work right above the butt.....so where does that leave me.....I suppose that if your into preforming in public as apposed to recording your music privately the video thing would make more sense.....I have even practiced with a mirror......I guess because I want to be the best I can be in both sound and stage presence....
oh and Gilly a video of you could never be icky.......nope never...

I wasn't saying Gilly was icky I was just talking about general perceptions from the time I was brought up.
There is a difference between saying something in general and specific. If I said, I really think guys look best when their hair covers their ears, since I grew up in the 70's when hair was all long, does that mean I am saying that guys with short hair are ugly? Or that I am insulting any guy with short hair? No. I am just saying, from my perspective, due to when I grew up, that's how I feel.
I think the tattoos can be pretty and I know they are art. I think if you are a professional musician, it probably does make you look cooler, too.

Lol... uh huh. you said, quote " When and where I was growing up, only sailors and really grungy people had tattoos. I know it's changed and that many younger people have them, but it just looks icky to me"
Therefore, what OTHER conclusion can I reach, than you saying that I "still" look icky? Regardless of WHO has them nowadays.
Ah well. MAybe you didn't TRY to insult ME, but I did you:)
Annnnywayyyyss... I am used to people thinking that tattoos are gross. You should hear my family. And, I have had tattoos since I was 16. My father refused to look at me, if I wore a tanktop in his presence.
BUT, he has never verbelly SAID what you said:) I come from this idea, that if ya don't like something... don't look:) (And, esp. don't be RUDE about it;)
NO more on the subject. I AM going to post the finished pics of it, and If you think it is icky, don't look, ok?:) And, if you WANT to see icky, maybe I could make a video of the actual process... I swell,a nd bleed ALOT... blood just drips:) Or, pics of the third day, and on, when it is all peely, and scaly, and scabby:)
Ok?:)

When I turned 21 way back in 1978 (ooohhh) I got a tattoo..I had just moved to Southern California as an aspiring songwriter/keyboard player.. ever since I was 10 years old I wanted one along with leather pants ( I had a major crush on Jim Morrison and he was the 1st one I saw wearing em) anyway I got both the same year.. I was still living with my parents and very virginal)..so that kind of tears away at the only soddys got tattoos back then... . I had mine done in pastels of a musical staff on the lower part of my left forearm, wrapping around.. now it does need retouching. It was a female tattoo artist in Beverly Hills that performed this artwork and I was put on tv while it was being done for a show at the time called "Eye on LA".. They were filming a spot on people being tattoed.. it was then I learned that it was not the sailors and "low life" that were tatooed but just as common, doctors and nurses cause they were used to needles...would I do it over again? Yes...for I never did get my ears pierced an dduring the interview I was asked, 'why a tattoo'.. answer ; it's a permanent piece of jewelry...

Sorry, Gilly...I really didn't mean to imply that you are icky I meant I think tattoos in general are...just the concept, you know? It's a kind of prejudice, I guess, if that makes sense.
Sorry that I did not read carefully what I wrote first, before posting...that's what I get for being in a hurry all the time!
Glad we are ok now
