I am the person pcdoctor was referring to with CAVS PROBLEMS. I certify this to be true -CAVS STINKS!!! and I won't buy from them ever again.

Here is something new. I just discovered RSQ NEO E500 and there is a rave going on on the quality and service of this machine. I am continuing my research on this product. It seems to be going for around $250 - $300 including bonus disc.

Any chance someone else has had experience with this machine?

Hey MENDOZA,

Sorry you weren't able to get your situation straight with CAVS!

I appreciate your concern. But now that I have no CDG player I am in the market for one and seriously considering the NEO 320 or NEO 500. Question, is there a PC BASED K system that provides all the pro-features like key change, reverb, and other effects?

Check this one out...

Two speakers, powered mixer with effects, made by Fender:

Add a player and a mic (and CDGs) and you're ready to go...

I've seen the Fender and the SoundChoice C100 by SoundTech.
I still have a few months to make a decision.

thanks TopherM,
that setup is very similar to the soundtech S20 pcdoctor mentioned
soundtech s20 pa 160watts $199.00
squire 4 pa system 120 watts $229.00
looks like the soundtech s20 would be better buy and louder sound, both got good reviews. it seems like the squire brand is more popular though.
i am meeting someone local today to look at pa speaker system with mixer, called about an ad in a local buy/sell bulletin magazine in our area, he didn't give any details, hopefully it will be what i'm looking for, don't know price yet, he told me to make an offer...........  crossing my fingers LOL

Waiting to see if you buy a system locally.
Good luck!

well that didn't work out LOL , drove around town to a couple of audio stores and the prices were outrageous, for brands i've never even heard of.  buying online seems to be the best option.  the SoundTech STX7100 pa system is only $100.00 more than the SoundTech S20, thought about this system too.

The SoundTech systems seem to have good customer reviews.

I just looked at the specs and I have a question.
Two websites I have been to says the mixer is PMX100R seven channel 100 watt.
Speakers specs are power output (8 Ohms): 300 watts program, 150 watts RMS
I'm totally confused, each speaker is 150 watts rms so wouldn't the total watts for the amp be 300?
I thought the mixer would have been 300 watts instead of 100.

Here are the two websites that state the PMX100R has a seven channel 100 watt mixer.  Is the 100 watt a typo?

well, i have ordered my karaoke setup ........ some of you may laugh, but i think it will do just fine for me and i paid less than $400.00

i ordered the soundtech s20 pa speaker system (this system also includes 2 bonus speakers at 50watts)

i also ordered the singing machine smg-900 . it has 3 disc player, has key control, vocal cancel and other nice features and it has 40 watts speakers.

this setup should work out nicely for my home karaoke needs. all i need now is a good microphone. i have one i bought at (rat shack), but plan on upgrading to a shure mic later on.

Josh,

I initially was going with just one corded microphone then I thought two people singing at the same time would be nice.  After that, I discovered wireless.  This way, kids or adults won't trip on any cables.  So, when I do purchase microphones, I'm going with wireless.
I've decided on Audio2000 wireless microphones.
Now, I'm just waiting for another karaoke.com 20% sale or coupon.

pcdoctor,
those look nice. do you like wireless better than the corded? i know they would be easier, without tripping and getting wires all tangled, but do they sound as good as a good corded mic? i've never really tried the wireless except one my mom had , which i'm sure wasn't one of the better brands, cause she's a tightwad, lol moreso than i am.

LOL,

The only microphone I own is the one connected to the sound card on my pc.  I have a few teenaged cousins who I have the feeling will go wild when singing and trip over the cord or someone else like my Grandmother or Great Aunt might.  I've never heard corded or cordless microphones.  I'm just thinking ahead of what I want to buy.  I keep saying November will be my purchase month for a pa and microphones but browsing this board might make it sooner.  I plan on having a karaoke function during an xmas party in Dec.  It's going to be so hard to wait unti then!

My SoundTech system arrived today.  I'm getting ready to watch "Prison Break" so I'll test the system out tomorrow!
