You know, certain things my Dad and Mom did as kid's we've discussed. My grandfather had a Violent temper, and in those days what is considered "abuse" today wasn't discussed. (notice I'm stating this without judgement, it just WAS that way in those days).
I wonder how many of the things I was castigated for by my father, were identical to what my father and his friends did for entertainment during the old "low tech" hellion days of male development around the time of the depression.

Not at all :)
I made a statement, and qualified it with descriptions such as "actively drinking", being a "sick drunk" and being a sinner, nothing connotes proud. Certainly nothing I'm proud of. I think alcohol can be VERY dangerous, and I try to make mention of this when appropriate. Nothing glamorous by anymeans. Granted, to some that like to boast, it appears as boasting if they project. Yet I assure you, I'm grateful to be alive, and certainly not proud of an illness that inflicted pain upon others, and was self destructive.. I don't brag about this.

I would urge ANY teen, or person in their 20's that isn't experienced with the hypnotic substance that induces feelings of aggression to be VERY VERY careful when drinking. There will often be serious regrets !!!!

I agree Steven....Fer instance, when I was 10 I would beg to sleep over at my uncle's house...They had this BEAUTIFUL 18 daughter, my cousin....Then I would hide in the cabinet under the bathroom sink while she took her shower and peek out thru the cabinet vents.....One night after her shower, as she was leaving she said "OK, I'm thru, you can come out now." She knew I was there everytime, but let it go on cause she knew that "boys will be boys" back then...
Today, I would be called a stalker/predator/sex offender and condemed at 10 years old forever.

Hey, ShyGuy...This was intended as a thread where folks could come and admit to stupid stuff and laff at themselves...a place where hopefully no one would criticize them like you are doing.
If you are bent on being critical, then go find another thread or start one yourself...Call it "Are you as anal as me?" or something to that effect....Maybe you will get the attention you seek there....I'm just here to have fun...And you ain't much fun, so go away...People are laffin at you, except it ain't funny.

Quote: Wait, so when you ARE experienced (like yourself), you DON't have to be careful when drinking?
Here's some food for thought Shyguy.
It's ALWAYS easy to poke at those who opt to display candor in these threads, when you yourself hide, conceal identity, and remain defensive. Some of us wish to be open, naturally that leaves us vulnerable to hecklers that for some reason wish to attempt to taunt us, yet I still like you Tony LOL .. You have yet to get to me. OK, now to answer your question.
A) Just as a diabetic is NOT proud in these threads when they state a fact, "I am diabetic", as an Alcoholic who hasn't touched a drop of alcohol for 25 years, and has devoted time hoping others NEVER go through what I did, NO... I have to be careful NEVER to drink AGAIN ! I DO NOT DRINK, I DO NOT SMOKE... I DO EAT TOO MUCH however. Sue me !
Any other questions ?

No, I don't think you are correct in all you are saying, sure, I am anal, but on the other hand, I truly believe there are more people thinking you are pathetic then people laughing (take note of the spelling) at me. You just don't like people pointing out that your stupidity is not nearly as funny as what you think. As I said, you are a sad, lonely person. I rest my case.

Oh yeah, Did I mention I'm also not ashamed to be me in the last 5 minutes ?
I speak to you here, as I'd speak to you in real face to face, hate me or love me, this is me. FAR from perfect !

I remember someone gave me some good advice once. If it is offensive to you don't
read it. This is a post about offensive things, so that is what I expected to find. So I
can't complain about anything I'm reading.

Sure, and alcoholism doesn't become a medical problem ? Nice defense oh wise-one :) I wonder why you opted to waste your precious time (to begin with) by coming in here for the purpose of merely being confrontational.

Nothing like a good argument. The other threads are kinda boring.

"Typical American" you say?...then you must be French...Yeah, you are either French or French Canadian.
"And waste my precious time, no thank you, I'm off to my studio and entertain myself"...Good idea, make sure to hang a few mirrors and place several mics so that each of YOU have something to look at and listen to....Seeing as no one here begs your company, maybe you will feel wanted there once surrounded by yourself.
