I agree, is there really a more rediculous law than some of our law's regarding marijuana ? or behind the counter medications ? 2 MG of a substance being a shelf purchase, 4 MG being prescription only ? It's absurd, personally I can't stand pot, yet that's neither here nor there, I just state that to indicate I'm not saying "Legalize the stuff and tax it" because I personally like it.
Our nation is still @$$ backwards when it comes to alot of it's laws. Allow the individuals the right to live or die as they please, and they MUST be held entirely accountable for their actions as well... and THIS must be taught in the school systems... CHildren accordingly MUST learn how to grow up in a nation without excessive government telling them what they can, and can not ingest... THey are free to live there lives as responsible adults, and must assume full responsibility for their own actions. One thing a responsible adult does is THINK first, act later... and not say "So I F'ed up, it's not my fault that I was born"..

Thank you, That's interesting. Yes, we do hear greatly exaggerated tales that DO in fact make Amsterdam friday night sound alot like "Plato's retreat" in NYC in the 1970's.

 I wouldn't read to much in what the fancy documents say. Go there and see what is tolerated Isis. Also, let's look at some of the "laws" that are actually on the books (here in the US of A) and if they are really applied:
There is in fact an Illinois law that prohibits a number of things, one of which is a public erection, and another one of which is nude dancing. The prohibition against the public erection has never been challenged in the Supreme Court, but the prohibition against nude dancing has.

While it is legal for theaters to show movies on a Sunday, it is only legal so long as (1) they have a permit from either the city or the county and (2) at least once monthly they show a religious or educational film

There is no law against public nudity in the district I live in. What a person will be challenged on is competency, and intent in court.. Sad Sad thing, but they go about things in a backhanded way :( corrupt... IMHO...

Shyguy...Thanks...Gosh I needed a laugh...I do forget about some of the laws on the books here in the states....They do get pretty ridiculous.....
I guess it is all subjective anyway,,,,Give a law to 5 people and yes you will get 5 different interpretations...and 5 different ways to enforce them. And as long as there are laws there will always be people breaking them or trying to figure out how to get around them.....

I can show you a list of law's that have never been amended on the books since the days of the "Blue Laws". They are written, CAN be enforced, yet really don't apply..
Some of these laws are nasty. Sex on Sunday is illegal, Non missionary position sex is illegal in some districts, hitching your alligator to a fire hydrant in Saratoga Springs NY is illegal... and the list goes on.. Makes us sound more inhibited than old Iraq.

Tampa Bay - it is against the law for rats to leave docked ships.

Topher...Darn the luck I was hoping to come to Florida and sing Karaoke in my swim suit on the beach...I'm so disappointed!!!

Yet there are reasons for these laws. You'll probably find that a LONG time ago a woman might have solicited herself by standing in a bathing suit, or bikini singing. This was a means she used of advertising she was a call girl.
These are the reasons certain laws get taken overboard. THere's always some incident behind them...
