Seby, and Gilly,  are you talking about full grown ADULT racoon's ?   They are supposedly VERY unpredictable and instinctively mischievous (or so I thought), Now skunks make great tame pets.... Yet I really don't know about this.. I've just heard this stuff along the way

Yuppers, talking about a full grown adult raccoon. It got it's leg stuck in a trap as a baby, and they took it to the vet, (their children found it in the woods... some very unhappy hunter lost a trap, eh?) and had it's leg amputated. They nursed it to health, and then, kept it as a pet. (It wouldn't have made it very far as a sick, 3 legged animal:) (It was missing it's left hind leg). Anyways, they had it for years, before it got attacked by a neighbor's dog, and killed. I remember it for quite a while, i would always go to visit, and play with it. It was very cute, and wonderfully playful.... similar to my cat, but, smarter, and silly.

Don, I just checked out your profile.  You're a Chemist ?  I loved playing around with the qualitative lab stuff in chemistry..  Unfortuneately even the basics threw me off.  Didn't enjoy the  1S2-2S2-2P6-3S2 electronic notation of orbitals and the abstract areas such as the quantum principles.. I was always more of a visual person, and the sciences were brutal for me..  I still am.  Which is why I have trouble in the tech areas... I'm the type of person who assumes there's an engine in the nice looking car, and never lifts the hood to check...

Yes Gilly,  They are known to be VERY smart animals..

http://exoticpets.about.com/gi/dynamic/ ... 2Fidio.htm

This is fascinating. My guess is people aren't tolerant of this type thing,  therefore they consider the animals to not be "domestic"

D. Disruptive behavior
My natural instinct is to bite when I'm angry, disappointed or "uptight". As a pet coon I know I'm not supposed to bite, so I've developed other, less lethal, ways to act out. My parents may tell me "no" if they catch me doing one of these, but I'm never punished. Usually they look the other way because they know I have to have some outlet for my frustration. My disruptive behaviors include:
1. digging up house plants
2. nipping the buttons off clothing taken from clothes baskets
3. relocating clothing and urinating on it if I'm really pissed
4. overturning water bowls
5. emptying the bookcase
6. unplugging the phone from the jack and/or leaving it off the hook
7. stripping a bed of the bed linen
These are all activities I've learned my parents don't like, but are harmless, so I do them to annoy them. These are particularly gratifying if my parents are watching. Frequently they even bribe me to stop.

It appears that they throw deliberate tantrums. I suppose they are high-strung animals, ESPECIALLY around the mating season. The older ones can even have a stroke during that period from elevated metabolic stuff....

I'm the kind of guy who sings a song to the woman of my dreams and gets that "chill".....while setting two tables away from my astringed (or strange) wife...that happened tonight....oh and remember it's a very small populated rural area....we always sing at the same place on Friday nights......

The rule, or at least commonly heard belief used to be Racoon's are adorable when young, and they make fabulous pets, HOWEVER the owner at one point WILL in most cases need to make alternative plans because the matured animal is likely to become extremely tempermental, and difficult if not impossible to keep in a domestic situation. It will tear apart your home, bite, and will never be a predictable tame animal given it's natural characteristics...  I thought this was also typical of both Lion and Tiger cubs... Adorable when young... impossible to cohabitate with humans as house pets when mature... and from the episode involving the chimpanzee in California about a year ago, I'm starting to wonder about chimps too as pets  :(  A species that is 98% our DNA.  (or something like that)

DON'S GUIDE TO EASY WEIGHT LOSS:
1. Crack one of your wisdom teeth by chewing on an ice cube.
2. Experience the chronic pain.
3. Then, watch your appetite and those unsightly pounds just melt away!

It's that simple!  No will power or expensive diet foods required!
Based on my true life, present day experience.

Miss Pink's crazy ideas on weight loss:

1. Amazing! You hang something in your closet for awhile and it shrinks two sizes!
2. You don't lose weight, you just look thinner from a distance.
3. Every time I get the urge to exercise, I lie down till the feeling passes.
4. At my gym they have free weights, so I took them.
5. The only exercise I get is jumping to conclusions.
6. I'm not into working out. My philosophy is no pain, no pain.
7. I gave up jogging for my health when my thighs kept rubbing together and setting my pantyhose on fire.
8. Inside me there's a thin person struggling to get out,
but I can usually sedate her with four or five cupcakes.

Your mean crazy human tricks such as weak eyes muscles causing eyes to shake from side to side might not make the show?  LMAO
