Few know about Art like that at our age.. Unless they are SERIOUSLY into it !

Gosh, so I'm a pretty dang intelligent brunette..... gimme a break. Can't I PRETEND to be a dumb blonde once in a while?  LMAO

Actually, ya want the truth?  :drums: ( I don't often offer the truth in forums you know)

I read- ALOT. I always have. And not just mushy girlie love stories (though, those DO have their good sections) I like to read interesting books.

I read "Depths of Glory" by Irving Stone. VERY good book. It got me a bit interested in both Impressionism & Pointillism..... so I have researched it on the internet somewhat. It was really neat to actually get to see alot of the paintings that I had read descriptions of in the book.  The book is mainly about the life of Camille Pisarro, but all the other great (and not so great) Impressionist & Pointillist painters are in the book as well. Interesting reading- and research.

Am I an artist? Oh lord, that is bound to get a chuckle out of Don. I sit at the bar table, and use bar napkins & paper coasters as my art pad....... karaoke pencils as my paint...... hahaha, and I draw people in the bar. Or I draw other things..... horses, boots, hats, silly stuff. I drew Don once, he thought it was pretty funny.

But- artist - NO. I have a "bad habit" of drawing is the accurate way to put it.  LMAO
So it appears you have this terrible urge to express yourself....You really need to repress that least you find out how empowering it is.

TY for the warning. I'll store this tidbit on both sides of my brain this time

Well Charmin's artwork at Denny's can best be described as "still life's as seen through an empty bottle of Bud"!   LOL   Actually there is great potential.  "Just fill out this matchbook form and send $199.95 to further your new career as an artist!"

The words Neoimpressionism and Postimpressionism embrace different streams and styles. They include many technics and aims that point to the purposes of artists. These ones are not gathered under a common unified style: each one of their works is according to the singularity of each one of their ideas

Pointillism is a style of painting in which non-primary colors are generated by the visual mixing of points of primary colors placed in close proximity to each other. This technique was in contrast to current methods of creating non-primary colors, including mixing pigment in the palette or using pigments out of a tube.
Originally developed by Neo-Impressionist Georges Seurat, the movement is also associated with Paul Signac, Théo van Rysselberghe, Henri-Edmond Cross, and Vlaho Bukovac.
When viewed from a distance, the points or dots cannot be distinguished, and blend optically into each other. This means that with the same set of primaries, pointillists generate a different range of colors when compared to artists using traditional colors or color-mixing techniques.

What you are touching on is called "Subtractive color method",  yet I thought Neo, and Post were synonyms in this case.

Man, Don, I'm gonna frame my next one and name it that:

"Still Life As Seen Through An Empty Bottle Of Bud"

I LIKE it!!

They'd believe it anyhow, haha. The uneven lines, the blurry edges, the spots of beer splatter spilt on it. And it just might make me RICH & FAMOUS!!  :dancin:

Kappy, I got a serious question for ya::

Does it ever creep you out that you don't know who the "guests" are that are lurking around? I mean, why do they not want to be seen? Do they think we're bad company?

You can watch- and sometimes they'll be there quite a while. If they are that interested in the conversation, wouldn't ya think they'd just log in and join us? Creeps me out I tell ya...... kinda spooky to always see some invisible person reading what you're posting.

But, then again, it's probably just part of my own personal paranoia. Something in me wants to go pull the curtain back and say "gotcha".  LOL

Haven't kept up on that recently. Last I heard they tagged it with a data transmittor and deceided to "let nature take it's course". Because of travel, I am sometimes behind.

No, no........ I'm much too young to have sang with them.    (when they were doing most a their stuff, I think I was about 5-10...... too young for the bars)

Actually, Don can tell you the whole story if he's so inclined.... I met him through karaoke just in the last year or so. (Don?? Timeframe here??) Heck, maybe about a year ago.

We have played together- at my house- and at "open mic night" at Denny's..... once, then said forget it.

We're trying to get to working out some ideas though..... time, money, and other circumstances stop me from jumping in to do what I'd LIKE to do.

~AND DON'T MAKE ANY INNUENDOS OUT OF THESE SENTENCES- DON IS MY FRIEND~

Ack,  Don't worry,  I have three computers hooked to a router..  If I didn't come here under anonymous reader as well,  people would think I'm a tad obsessive, and they might even start to ponder whether or not I have a life.

Don't let anyone in the forums find this out Charmin,  I'm sending this to you via PM for a reason...

Keith, GAWD you need an arse kickin'.

It's just...... when you see that on every thread....... I just wonder why people don't log in. And I was being a BIT sarcastic as well.

If I thought there WERE peeping toms? I'd leave gaps in the curtains- on purpose. I'd just PRETEND not to know they were there.  :dancin:
