Hello, I Have a small project recording studio and am looking to adapt it so that I Can Do a Karaoke night at a local dive-bar,and also private parties.What Hardware(player/P.A.) and software should I use.Here is what I am working with...
A toshiba Sattelite 3.2 Gig Laptop 512 RAm.
Windows Xp Business Edition.
Presonus fIRE-POD INTERFACE.
I am looking to spend between $1500-$2000.Less if possible.What Do I need to get gigging.Any Help would be appreciated.Thanksmuch Wilz...

Well, you need either or both, a CD+G player or the music loaded on your laptop along with a hosting program.
Then you need to interface the laptop to the PA.....Lot's of possibilities there.
The PA needs to consist of a patching/routing device like a mixer, and an amp and main speakers, and one or several mics.
Not familar with your presonus interface, but perhaps it might allow you some streamlining from the above.

What hosting software would you recommend?What P.A.?What Player?...Do I Need A Player or Can I Just load Songs Onto An External Hard-drive?...

do some reading on this very thread "Technical Questions"... you're in the right area... it's been discussed ad nauseum in here. Do a bit of research. What works well for one person isn't adequate for someone else, and vice-versa.
