Yep, it's free.
You can insert it in your mic signal chain before the mixer and use it to provide a degree of compresson-limiting or even gating/ducking.
Please don't say you want it if your mixer doesn't have inserts on the mic strips, or if you ain't a working KJ with regular gigs.
I bought it to play with and use as a training device to understand and hear/test the effects provided by compression....I learned that compression is necessary if you want to provide high quality vocals and limit/prevent the screamers from clipping your cabs. The unit is not the best example causae it only costs 100 bucks, but it is effective and does not degrade your sound if used properly.
So, if you working KJ's have screamers and want something to help level out the vocals, then you are welcome to this unit.
I no longer need it cause I have replaced it with one built into an outboard mic pre....Otherwise I would leave it in the rack and use it.
You can PM me with your shipping addy. First come, first served...And yeah, I pay shipping, but don't expect me to have the owner's manual...If I don't, you can download it online for free.

Well, I dunno what the heck ya got there Keith........ :drunk: ........ I'm a bit dopey.
My next thread though, is gonna be asking advice on a drum machine. Me & my son were playing some last night (he's gotten pretty good on a guitar)...... and I got to thinking I want one.
My sister & her hubby use one in their band, and with a foot pedal, it's so easy for him or her to control while playing their instruments. I'm not a drummer, only played & made racket on the things.... don't want to ever be a drummer. But, man, would that ever add to some of the songs I like to play.
I used to pathetically use a keyboard to get those drum effects. (just at home goofing off)....... and I had a small organ, that you could use the foot pedals to play bass. I use to sit on the organ bench and play guitar & sing, while my feet tapped out the bass notes. It was fun....... but........ this mixer has opened a few doors for me.
I'm sure you'll find a taker for your uh, thingee majiggy there. :)

Well, Matt runs shows regularly, so that's good. I'm sure he'll put it to good use.
You know, I know there's a "for sale" area here somewhere, or used to be....... but I don't think it's harldy ever used.
This got the quick attention you wanted though.
So...... if I run up to Matt's show sometime....... that thing will keep my big mouth from making the mic feedback?

The comp will level out the quiet stuff and the loud stuff if he sets it up correctly.
Hey, Matt....Whatever you do, don't call her sweetcheeks....If you do, I don't think the comp will comp enuff to save you or your cabs.

well, I asked for it cause I've got some screamers that turn on the action, and then sing very quietly... and they look at me funny when I have the mic set low after that. Lonman pointed me to some limiters, and I was JUST getting ready to order one when I saw your post.
I'll let you know when I get it, and how I got it to work.
Thanks again amigo!
As for Charmin's backside, I've been HOPING she's stop by. If she sings outta it, I'm not gonna be too happy! !

Come to think about it, It would be nice if given the related interest most of us have, there was an "equipment swap" site here.
OK pervs, I don't mean THAT type equipment !

EW!! Matt, just- EW!!!
Gals don't do that kinda stuff, dang it.
And hey, I'll get up there.
And actually..... I got a special date coming up, and I was thinking.....
March 16th is my TWENTIETH wedding anniversary (yikes, I'm showing my age here), but my husband is bugging me about "what are we gonna do". He has vacation time coming, we thought about going to the coast, but now we're thinking we might just get a motel somewhere not too far off & just ditch the kids for a few days.
So, I was thinking (and no, my way of thinking most likely WONT surprise him, hahah)..... that I could make it a 3-4 day tour of Northern Oregon & Southern Washington karaoke bars I've never been to. Stay drunk off my arse the entire time (atleast HE will have fun too that way)..... and that way I wont have to really THINK about the fact that it's actually been 20 years.
So, you're place would be on my hit list...... for sure. Lonnie's too, since Tacoma is not too far.

Ok, Matt
The 3630 is all boxed up(used the ART box, it fit perfectly)....I will drop off at post office Tuesday. You are going to need one insert cable for each side if you plan to run 2 mics thru it.

Hey Charmin -
We have a couple of gift cards for the Red Lion Convention Center Inn which is in the heart of Portland by Lloyd Center. We got them as a wedding present about 18 months ago and have never used them because it is so close to our home. You are welcome to use them! I think they are for 1 night each so you could do a weekend thing. I'm sure they are still good but can check if you are interested.
Hey! we are not gonna use them and they are worth like $85 each and Red Lions are nice places to stay.
PM me if you would like them.

When I suggested the coast trip it didnt enter my mind at the time that I had these still around. We were gonna use them for New Years Eve until I booked a gig that was too far away from the hotel.
Just don't wanta have em' go to waste.

I'm really lookin' forward to playing with this! You got lucky, I had to go to town, so I mailed it an hour ago...The post office gal said tell you it should be there this Wed....She wanted the bag of gummy bears I tossed in the box with the compressor(I always let them inspect and tape up the box). I refused and explained you had a sweet tooth.
Nan, nan, nan...I get my Lexicon tomorrow, but you don't get the comp til the next day.

received the limiter today (arrived on Thursday, but I couldn't pick it up til today)... I've downloaded the manual...
Keith - THANKS. I'll let you know how it works next week. I wanna play with it for a bit to see how it works without experiencing feedback!
