It's getting to be a matter of life and death for me....It seems I gotta eat at least once a day and this is day 3.
My best buddy took the last few days off and I'm a little hungry, so I just inventoried the frig and cabinets...I got a 4 pack of thawed breakfast ribeyes and some taters and no butter, but plenty of sliced cheese and canned goods.
So I'm thinking since it's pouring rain, I can just toss the ribeyes into a red hot skillet and nuke a tater in the microwave, then melt some cheese on the tater and be good to go till tomorrow or the next day...I got plenty of beer at least.
I'm thinking my buddy robbie is attemting to starve me into submission like my last 2 wives.....I ain't willing to fall for it....After all, since when does a guy with no job need a few days off?
I need some man to man "how to eat" info guys...Please tell me what you stir up to eat day to day short of the fast food stuff.

You really don't want to know the stuff I plow down, If it's microwaveable, OK even if it's not microwaveable. It STILL goes in the microwave.. This can be Pizza, hotdogs, TV dinners, TV dinners usually only when I have alot of patience, because they can take up to 5-7 minutes to prepare...The good stuff of course doesn't need to go in the microwave, Ice cream and cookies are easier for instance... I don't like to prepare food, I don't have the patience.. I live next door to a grocery store, so I just walk next door, and grab something usually on a whim... Sometimes I eat vegetables, and fruit....yet they kind've bore the crap out've me.

Sometimes i wished i lived in town next door to everything....Most of the time I'm glad for the country life, tho...Maybe it's the rain and empty house, but I just ain't had the reason to eat last few days....And bob Dylan was singing "Knocking on Heavens door" when i posted.....Whew!...Depression is a dangerous thing..kinda sneaks up on you...I think i'll ease out and check on the horses....And fersure turn off the music.

Hey, If you want to talk about anything, let me know ! I'm always there for you !
If you're feeling depressed drop me a message. Make sure you get something to eat Keith, I've been in that same situation, and I'm sure you know, dehydration, and hypoglycemia often creates depression, or certain worsens it....When the body is rundown, the mind easily becomes rundown, and vice versa, Yet you know all this stuff anyway, but you got to eat something... THree days, no wonder you are feeling depressed. Your body is depressed.... Lemme know if you want to talk, Like I said, I'm here for you !
I guess Dylan is better than some of those 60's and 70's ballads....Yet some of that stuff coupled with a rainy day, isn't always the best listening material LOL ,,, Chapin, JT, Goldsboro, some of those ballads are pretty nasty when you're already in a depressed state.

I'll be alright...Thanks.
I'll go out there in the mud and comb out the horses....They need it anyway...They listen better than most anyone I know...and they never repeat what I confess.
I'l see you in a few.

I places like 7-11 get the small can of tuna go over to the hot dog counter get a few packets of pickle relish along with a bunch of maionase. If you are lucky enough to have fresh bread when you get back home you can make tuna sandwiches.. The hardest part about bacthing is alot of stuff spoils I dont like to freeze bread....The cheap tv dinners can be perked up with real mashed potatoes even with only instant stuff... When you make pancakes use half and half and put some instant potatoes in too It actually improves the flavor and gives them more sustenance..Your little pasta dinners can be mixed with soup and other small tv dinners...Scwanns has some of the best preprepared stuff there is I munch on their chicken wings and pizza rolls etc.. Now you are talking to the galloping gourmet of the microwave..

Well, I'm dressed out and ready to get out there in the rain....It ain't a matter of trust my friend....It goes a little deeper than that-not that you don't go that deep, but it's just easier to sometimes to talk to someone who appears to listen but doesn't actually hear you...Allows you to hear yourself better, you know?..I can bounce anything off those horses.....Besides that, they like it when i get all personal with them and dig that comb deep where they can't scratch.
You give what you need, my friend....My horses need a good up close and personal rub down...They wanna see me get out there in the rain and mud with them and take my time and check on them....You give what you need and it comes back to you every time....Well, with horses at least.

"You give what you need and it comes back to you every time."
Excellent philosophy Keith! More people should live by that one.
As far as foods, there's the obvious Kraft macaroni and cheese or Rice-A-Roni.
It's a bunch of starch but you can save the leftovers and stretch it out for a long time. Hamburger -- you can do lots of things with that. I'm a sucker for canned tamales -- Nalley's, Hormel... You're out in the country, but if you're in the city,
Chinese and Thai take out.
If you're not eating much, atleast drink lots of water to flush out the toxins.
Take care!

Screw that! Those guys are coated in mud! Skywalker came running when i whistled and busted his butt when he slid to a stop...Then Easy piled into him....I almost fell down laffing at them.
God, it's raining buckets outside. I gave them a double ration of grain and pulled the leaves out of their manes....That's all they were in the mood for. The rain has them kinda feeling pent up and nervous... They want some sunshine like I do....ain't no way they are going to hold still for me.....Can't blame them, I guess.
I'll cook up 2 of those thin ribeyes and nuke that tater....I did me good to laff at those two.
The 2nd ex wife came round last night and rubbed on me and kinda messed with my head....I woke up missing her...Been in a funk ever since....Man, I miss her, but I can't go back there.
All day it's been reach for the phone and call her, or eat, or call her, or eat....The rain forced me to not avoid the choices....So I guess I'll eat something.

Take care! Thanks, I got some kraft deluxe mac n cheese and assorted cans of stuff along with some frozen veggies....I've been putting off grocery shopping...I guess I need to do the wal-mart/grocery store thing seeing how it's been a month.

Don't think men are the only ones who have these days. Sometimes I
feel like I live the life of a guy. I work 3 jobs and don't have time to shop.
Peanut butter is my best friend. Last night it was Ritz Crackers, jelly and peanut butter for supper at 1am.
Kappy is so right about not eating and getting depressed. It will make things seem worse. People are more willing to listen than you think. It's figuring out who is genuine.

Well, seeing as how this was sposed to be a guy thread, but you are in the same boat as us single guys, then your contribution is welcome...I trust you to tell me who is genuine and who ain't....I can't afford another gamble on that....I got one last honest effort left in me.....Maybe that's why I'm starving myself.
3 jobs?...Wow!...you gotta ditch them credit cards girl!

nope no credit card bills exept the one my last boyfriend left me.
He talked me into letting him use mine. $3000 later and he is history. I couldn't
put up with his crap anymore, so I cut him loose. But now I have his bills.
I'd work like this any way. I like being independent.

Keith has a good point though. Exercize, air, and working with animals is more therapeutic than just about anything else...Yet NOT with no food for three days...You got to have food, then rough it up in the mud with the horses....1/2 hour of that type cardio-workout will get the endorphan's going, the three of you should just canter in circles or something...NO way, an emotional issue is going to be in perspective if you're starving and sick...Three days of no nutrition, consider yourself physically ill...your body's been on a starvation cycle for 2 more days then it takes......yet damn, 3 days without food, I'd be weak, shakey, irritable, dizzy, feeling flu-like, and well into the midst of an emotional breakdown.... Well actually, that's how I usually am,
three days without food I'd be catatonic... and Keith, you can't really be prepared to deal with issues like girlfriends, emotional stuff if you haven't eaten in two days...Last night I bet could've been dealt with easier had you had some food...I know firsthand what starving, caffeine, ciggies, and sleep deprivation can do, it caused palps, white-outs, depression, and a full-blown panic attack while on the highway....ended up pulling over and blacking out...ended up in the ER. thing was a nightmare, all starts with shakiness, body's run down and has nothing left, yet mind starts reeling.... It never ocurred to me at that time, I was extremely hypoglycemic, and exhausted. Didn't occur to me that two days without food, and two pots of coffee for breakfast, no sleep, racing around....was burning me out.... started getting dizzy hyperventillating, all sorts of weird stuff....
Well. the punchline here is....Don't let this happen to you...My mind started playing all sorts of funny games on me, body gave me signs, yet I ignored them til I actually lost it....overloaded....that started all sorts of messy stuff soon to come too...
You've got to have nourishment to stay in control of yourself, and all situations....
OK, end of my lecture... Guaranteed, You WILL NOT be that depressed about what's bothering you now after a good meal, and liquid... I mean something besides hard alcohol.... hydrate yourself . Your electrolytic balance is completely out've wack.... This stuff isn't safe to mess with...You must feel sick...
OK, now I'll end this lecture

I've always been a take it or leave it type when it came to food....I have never eaten more than once a day, and often go a day or two tween meals....I harldy ever snack or eat sweets either...I'll drink a gallon of V-8 a day if it's in the frig, tho.
I got in a funk today, that's all....Yeah, I hadn't eaten either for 2 day before, but that's normal for me....Being the weekend, I'd usually pig out with my fat buddy Robbie....He usually stays here with me and is always cooking and eating, but this week he had to sit with his perfect 3 year old daughter so he hasn't been around last few days...I've been too lazy to mess up the kitchen, that's all.....BUT I JUST DID! I ate 2 little ribeyes and a huge tater covered in melted cheese!
I've been in a funk ever since i woke up this morning and discovered the 2nd wife was gone...She dropped in late last night and crawled in bed with me....Then she was gone this morning when i woke up.
I don't need that.
