Jian,  Did you ever take any Cosmology in your scientific studies ?  That is a VERY difficult area...

(I lacked the mathematical skills at the time to take the course :(   )

My quantitative abilities in the area's of science always have suffered.

No, Steven, I wised it was offered as a subject when I was in the U., but I did take a few courses on behavioral science. I too hate the maths part of my science. Yet maths is the most basic of all science. There are not many things that cannot be mathematically expressed. Words on this monitor screen are but this 01010110101

Have you come across people who believe in DREAM? I work among people who believe in dreams. and a big parts of their daily activities are controlled by their dreams.

Yes,  What we dream often has alot of meaning.  That's a fascinating area.

I think basically that you and I, Steve.... have a similar "acceptance of the possibility" that such things are "influencial'... as I posted above.  Seems Jeanne too feels there may be some "actuality" to some of it.  Interesting thread... definately!

CCindy,  you and I always did share very similar views on MANY issues. I think Jeanne too when it comes to some of the religion based, or metaphysical issues shares a similar belief..  We're not overly afraid to analyse an issue. In my particular case since there is so much we don't know, I'd rather say "I don't have a clue" when in fact to our awareness on some of these issues, people really don't have a clue... Alot in life appears to be *absurd*, yet we live in a world surrounded be absurdities. I can't say a concept is "wrong" until I can back up my assertion. If something seems real, but it's really weird, I agonize over trying to find some answer,  in many cases there seems to be none. If people really know what astrology is, and what it's principle components are, and can refute it being legitimate logically, I love to listen. I try to have some idea of what it is I do or don't believe in however.. If it's tough to understand it's safer to say, "I haven't a clue"... To date,  neither creation theory, or theory of evolution enable us to understand

"Why *we* are here" "where were we before we were here", and what happens when we die ?..  It's alot of guess work.

We know VERY little..

I can see where the phase of the moon affects the tides and produces some natural 32 day cycles.  At the speed of light it takes 1000's of years for light to reach the earth .  So if a planet or alignment of the planets is somehow effecting certain things in your life by the time the effects get here you are gone or in 10 lifetimes in the future..

I think alot of stigma is attached to things such as "numerology" "astrology" because they often fall into a category of "occult".  I suppose if a writer writes using mysticism, and we attempt to encrypt that type of esoteric symbolism (bible perhaps as an example ??) What's not to believe ?   In terms of numerology to "predict" the future, don't know..

Assuming numerology is just an esoteric use of numerals to predict or tell a story about a physical event... Remember the Zodiac killer in california ?  He used symbols and numbers to forwarn and give clues.... Would that fall into a category of "numerology" by definition ?

I went to one of the Astrology doctors one time. Ill never go back there again

Yet this guy too, was an Astrologer,  and an interestingly accurate one at that... I believe he also used numerology, but I'm not certain about that..

Nostradamus was a Physician and Astrologer

I thought he was talking about the proctologist? Ouch. :newlol:

Fact is, there are people that are affected by a full moon, whether they can see it or not..

And yes, I could be one of those. Remember my posting about buying a Barry White tape on Valentine's Day evening when the moon was larger than life coming up from the east?
It could be just me, but I think the full moon brings out the best of me. Some just grow extra amounts of body hair and go on a wild rampage. :newlol:

Whatever the verdict here, I believe the study of the stars is fascinating enough to take an interest in it atleast (astrology).
Now astronomy, is a whole different thing here, but also fascinating to me...especially the stuff about how lunar position controls the ocean tide...good stuff.  :)
Although astronomy is an actual science, and astrology is a study of the effect of those alignments, it could be thought of as one in the same.
Hence, the saying...men are from Mars, women are from Venus. I say women are from Neptune, the land of unpredictable chaos. :newlol:
This being derived from the fact that Neptune has 13 moons or was that moods? and Venus has none. And Venus' atmosphere is comprised of 96% carbon dioxide (hot air). Makes sense to me.
Wow! I guess I am an arrogant, self-centered a-hole. I'm really believin' in this astrology phenomenon. :newlol:
