First thing I'd do is run out and buy a better pair of magnivision glasses, because I doubt it'd sink in that I was wealthy,  I was meant to stay cheap.... The reason I'd buy a new (higher powered) pair of magnivision glasses, is because it's easier than buying a newer larger high-res flatscreen monitor...

What I'm getting at, is all the money in the world would likely not cure the fact that I'm a lazy (@$%&#!)... LMAO

If God, (or whomever) intended me to be wealthy,  He'd likely not have created me as a lazy (@$%&#!).... So I might not do well being a multi-millionaire, who knows, not all are cut out to handle it... Few think about the high percentage that can't handle coming into that much money,  Two around here died in fact,  one coke OD,  another suicide...

It takes discipline to handle being a multi-millionaire...

You can't buy that.. In fact for certain types of people, winning a lottery although they don't realize this at the time, can be a curse.... There are many problems that money can make worse....

OK,  Now that I've blown your fantasies.... LMAO

Keith, this is interesting,  because depending on what you have in mind.. (assuming it's not studio related LOL ,  or purchasing a club of some sort, or even an estate, or yacht),  I would not want money for !  Naturally I'm making an assumption here   LMAO

Is it millions you want, or happiness you want ?

This is going to sound bizarre since few think this way, yet it's true... There is nothing I really want or need that I haven't by now bought.  The rest of the luxurious stuff...Yeah,  it might be fun for abit...but if I really wanted a lavish house, and a maid, I'd buy it, and hire her... It doesn't cost 300 million.. A "pool" "Yacht" "plane" etc. are all added responsibilities once you own them; there are more checks to write, and bills to pay even though you can afford to pay them.. How many of these items once you learn what ownership entails would you really feel you need or even want  to own ?  Many people mention ownership of items that in our culture appear prestigious to own... Yet once the novelty of affluence wore off, ever stop to think how much more (even in terms of headaches), or even less would you feel you have than you currently do ?  ownership of alot of these items involves responsibility and decision making, also what appears to be extraneous factors now to those that don't consider them, insurance, zoning ordinances, associated costs, etc...

Only thing I want beyond what I have now, is Peace of mind... I can't get that with more money...  Only time I can see needing more money, would be for a very costly needed emergency medical procedure that for some reason insurance coverage was minimal on.  Perhaps Heart or liver transplant...

It's great to have fantasies and want more...Gives you something to reach for, yet to me having less makes happiness easier to attain, because the secret to happiness involves lowering ones standards in a materialistic culture full of superficial values... For me happiness comes from lowering ones standards, not greed. Even exercize.  Yet this winter taking a pill has seemed easier unfortuneately.

If you want to be happy, rather than drive to buy the lottery ticket, walk briskly to the place selling it...A good walk stimulates endorphans, you feel better, and end up feeling happy.

Moral of the story,  If you have no money, money certainly helps the process.  Yet if you have enough money to get by, happiness can be had for free, money doesn't buy it.. Introspecting, and honesty with ones self as well as realization does. You have to want to be happy badly enough to start programming yourself to feel happy. Even if it involved fooling yourself into believing you are happy at first, it's legal.. If anything is worth believing, it's that you want to be happy.. It's pretty rewarding..and free

Oh my gosh...I can't really fathom the possibilities. But it's over now, someone in Nebraska won from what I hear.

But, lets see........I give money to homeless people right now...you know these people that stand next to a busy intersection at rush hour usually with a sign? Yep, a sucker humanitarian. Whenever I mention this to other working class people like myself, they say, you're crazy, let those SOBs get a freakin' job!! You're not helping!!
There's a dude in Pittsburgh that stands at the side of the busy rush hour interstate by a stoplight wavin' at people like they all know him. People just ignore him usually. I started handing him a $5 spot out the window of my truck, sometimes with a candy bar, a bottle of water, or whatever. I started to recently notice a trend. A few more people's arms would come out of their windows.
Once I asked him, man, where do you live? He replied, over there under the bridge.
Once he asked me, man, what's your name? I said Perry. He said, that's my middle name!! I thought that was odd.
Now, everytime I roll through there, he's there, and I can't just drive on by. If most of the people in Pittsburgh have the attitude of a few that I mentioned earlier, I think that's sad. How do you get a job in today's PC society with no address, living under a bridge?
I have noticed there are a couple more supposed homeless people working the same spot as this guy, at the same time now!! They're lined up for a half mile!!
I can't afford to give to all of them, so I have to do my share of ignoring as well.

So, in light of my compassion for the less fortunate, with a Powerball win, I'd probably have fun the rest of my life indulging in my acts of generosity, not because it gets me off somehow, just because it's the right thing to do.
My thinking is......continue to give, and you will always have.

But of course, I'd find a thousand other worthwhile, life changing, self-righteous things to spend it on also. :newlol:  :biggrinthumb:

You can always take the nobel dignified path.

Claim you bought that ticket, and dropped it in the parking lot where it was sold, SUE.... Insist it was your power ball ticket, and YOU won the money !

I agree 100% with you Kappy and was pleased to see your thoughts. I have found in life that having everyting doesn't make you truly happy--what's left to fill life's quests when you have nothing left (material wise) to want for? Happiness or the quest for "personal peace" is more rewarding. :)

That's because some things can't be satiated solely thru external means,  but I didn't mean to start yacking about psychology, and interjecting my philosophies killing a fantasy thread... I just get confused sometimes,  now somebody pet my wet muzzle and throw me a fish,  I promise to try and stop barking  LOL

So assuming they take this lump sum,  what would they end up with,  15 Million after taxes if taken as lump sum payment ?   This is the type of thing I'd annuitize <sp>.  I forgot what the total sum was, yet take this in lump sum, and what % is taxed ? over 50% ? or are powerball terms of collection different than CT state terms, which give you the option of annuitizing, OR lumpsum payments.
