I love watching this show. I'm really digging the guy with the gray hair.
I think the girls have a lot of talent this year. In the looks category the girls are
definetely beating the boys. Have you guys been watching the show?

I watch it , can you tell below? My weekly who gets the boot report! I'm going to update it tonite! About 1/2 of each group should leave now!

It is going to be about looks more than singing, I think they should make those singers play an instrument with the band, thats when you will see the talent!

Not hard to sing, anyone can do it, some better than others.

To bad the wife is to old, I'd send her (_|_)

I like the show too, but I'm usually still working when it comes on.  :(

I occasionally catch it when I'm home, so I can't really follow what's happening.

My wife says it seems different this time...not as many decent singers, or singers picking boring songs...etc...etc... :dontknow:

I'm trying reallllyyyy hard NOT to watch it this time.

Never did a man need a serious beating worse than Simon Cowell, and it just ticks me off to hear some of the things he says. I'd give anything to hear him sing, so he could show what HE'S got......

But I usually start to really like a singer on there, and then they get booted off the show, and I get depressed and quit watching it anyhow. I haven't agreed with ANY of the winners except Carrie Underwood.

My husband keeps saying "Aren't you gonna watch this?"........ and my answer has always been "Nope". I'm gonna try to ignore the show this time.

(but I'm likely to be on here with a whole different story in a week or two- especially if I happen to see a clip of the show & realize there's a really cute guy on there who could sweep me off my feet with a song....... hahaha)

I don't like how Simon integrates an accepted form of abuse with what should be an artform...  IF some kid OBVIOUSLY is getting up there to be a jackass, that's one thing, yet to abuse kids that are really trying, and have been misled to believe they have talent is just wrong and cruel... Not entertainment IMHO...

I cannot see what the big deal is  Most of the people do suck when they sing, they just don't like it when someone tells them that they do.

Look at the guy last night, Bobby Bennett (Copa Cabana). He should be an entertainer on a cruise ship, nothing else. David Ratford (Crazy Little Thing) :puke:

Simon's statements have nothing to do with the way he sings, or cannot sing, but the fact that he has an ear for tonality and to be able to determine if people will be good recording quality or not. On the other hand, Paula is a drama queen, and whatever she says, you can take with a pinch (no, a bag) of salt. Randy, well, he is the peacekeeper.

Unfortunately for all the Simon haters out there, he is the only one that is interested in someone with actual vocal capabilities, and not just cute eyes and big floppy (or perky) boobs.

Simon is stuck playing his own role as the bad guy.  People expect his cocky attitude.
I'm curious if he's ever gone out of his way to ignore the good points just to focus on the bad points and maintain his character.  Who knows for sure!. I actually met Randy Jackson once -- he's a cool guy and talented bass player and producer that's for sure.

All you have to give to hear Simon sing is the cost of the Shrek II DVD...at the end of the "Faraway Idol" thing, Simon sings "My Way"...he's not bad!

Randy says the same things over and over. I hate when he says someone is
pitchy.
Simon says a lot of things I am thinking, but I agree he doesn't have to be so mean about it.
I felt bad for the black 28 year old girl. She did a great job, but all Simon could do was put her down for her age.
I haven't seen last nights show yet. I had to work, but I taped it. I have a feeling the boys didn't do as well as the girls.

Ok I had time to watch the guys Thursday night. Wow I was surprised.
Ace the really good looking guy seems like he's playing for the other team, if you know what I mean. He doesn't do anything for me. The bald headed rocker, yeah baby.
But I love Taylor Hicks, he is so cool and fun to watch. Its so odd, the guy has gray hair and looks older than his dad and sings like an old man from the bayou. He is my main pick right now.

I wasn't surprised at the people who got kicked off. I would have liked to seen the crooner go though.

I think half the attraction/ratings of Idol is due to the slams from Simon and the drama from Paula....I truly believe some singers advance just so they can be made a fool of later.

I would rather watch Nashville Star cause they avoid the ridicule.

I do enjoy watching the show, but can't take any of it seriously, maybe til the very end. Some of it is such a farce, like letting that wacko go to hollywood, the barefoot guy who did nothing but jump around acting like a fool, to me it was a shame that they wasted that spot, and could've had a decent singer there instead.
