Lonman,
I found this Yamaha S115V on eBay about the same price as a pair of S112V from MF.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... RK:MEWA:ITCan my Crown CE-1000 handle it? You mentioned in previous threads that the amp should exceed the speaker's RMS for best sound and also prevent clipping. For home use, I likely will not crank up too much. Would you rather spend on the S115V?
Thanks again.
Technically the amp should be able to push the RMS power but this is going to be used for a home system which isn't going to be turned up nearly as loud as a club. But you could always bridge the amp & parallel the speakers. Together they would handle 1000 watts RMS at 4 ohms which is what the amp would push. Of course this would now be a mono system if bridged.
The S115 are nice speakers. That's a decent price - about $100 off of new although when you add in shipping, that's only a $50 savings - BUT then you aren't paying tax that you would in the store either....so it's still a decent deal.
