I plan on purchasing dual Vocopro wireless microphones. Can someone please explain this response from their tech support? Is Vocopro's tech support saying that I can't adjust the volume from the microphone if I connect it to a laptop soundcard?  Basically, should I not use a desktop or laptop for karaoke?

Vocopro tech support
"Hi,
You will need 1/4" to 1/8" headphone jacks to connect to your laptop. However, keep in mind there are two outputs on the back of the mic system. You will need an adapter or (2)inserts to use both mics with your laptop. Also, when you directly connect to the laptop, you eliminate any support of amplification of the mic signal.
Thank you."

My question to Vocopro tech support
"I plan on purchasing the VHF-3000 later on this year. How can I connect the VHF-3000 to a laptop? Will I need anything help to connect the VHF-3000 to a laptop?"

If you are recording then you may connect the mic to the sound card. But if you wanna sing, then you need a mixer/ amp. Sure you will have some kind of sound coming thru if you sing thru your sound card but its mostly distorted.

The pc /lap top act as both a player/storage combo. Output of the pc go to the mixer. Your mics, also to the mixer.

Badsinger,

What mixer/ amp do you recommend?
Can I purchase an inexpensive mixer/amp from Karaoke.com or jandr.com?
If I decide to go with a standalone machine, do I still need a mixer?
If I decide to go with a standalone machine, I would connect it to my Yamaha receiver.

Thx again!
