Does anyone know of a program that can remove the vocals from a song to turn it into a Karaoke song? There are a couple songs I'd love to have for Karaoke songs but they aren't released...so I was wondering if anyone knows of a program that makes it possible to do that...
Thanks!

I have tried several programs to remove vocal, and no of them have worked with any sory of quality. Sure the vocal almost get removed, but the change in how the music sounds makes it sound like crap.
There is a company that will "re-make" songs with an actual band, and that would allow you to make a karaoke track out of it. I don't know how much they charge, but I belive they will do a samle for you, if you want. The link for them is on my home pc, if you want it let me know and I will post the link.

Goldwave has a devocalizer in it, at goldwave.com . it work ok but only some songs devocalize properly. I've done a few like could have been a lady by april wine devocalized perfectly, then I made the graphic file and everyone sings it at my shows and it goes over great. there is a standalone devocalizer that works pretty well too:

Buy Alesis PlayMate Vocalist online at Musician's Friend it works well devocalizing straight from the cd. I find that older recordings devocalize better because the lead vocals are centered and not stereo like today, and the background vocals tend to stay in tact also. Good Luck

I have both Goldwave and MTU's Vogone 2 and as for goldwave it does a real good job on songs I can't get vogone to work on.
I used Goldwave to devocalize Journey's "A Better Life" so I could create a karaoke version so I could sing it.

Rob did a first-class job of devocalizing one of my favorite songs by Queensryche for me... I did my own backgrounds, and then he went and did a BETTER job on the background graphics! !
Yep Rob, it's me!
Gimmie a hug big guy!

Hey DannyG did you try making a basspass from your original file with golwave then mixing it with your devocalized track. It brings some of the bottom back to your song. By the way how well did the journey song devocalize?

Almost perfectly. took out the lead and left the backing vocals.
I'll drop my recording back on the singer's showcase if you want to hear it.

Do you have a way to convert from mp3+G to .BIN or a way to play MP3+G?
I already created the karoke track in Mp3+G form. It actually came out real good. Lyrics are exact for the original artist.
