I just started putting togethere a home system, and I would really love some recommendations for good places to get CD-Gs. Brick-and-mortar stores in San Francisco, websites, anything that is reputable and reasonably priced.
I'm sure this sort of information is in the archives somewhere, but a number of searches couldn't find it, so I do apologize for asking again :-)
I tried to order from acekaraoke.com, but even though their web store ran my purchase through and gave me a confirmation number, three weeks later I have no CD-Gs. I called their customer service and they don't have the confirmation number on file! So I'm looking for alternatives, and I'd like a place that will not have such problems.
Thanks!

i have NEVER had a problem with doowop.com. the selection is good. prices are fair and there's no shipping charge unless you need it rushed. mostly they arrive in 3 days so i don't rush. another avenue is ebay. you can get most of the "standards" really inexpensive there.

if you still have the confirmation email, forward it to them.
Servers DO have glitches... lord knows I know about that working in the IT field. Sometimes lost data!
I've never had a problem with Acekaraoke, but admit most of my purchases are through k.com!

I have used karaoke.com but have to say over the last 6 years I use eBay about 99% of the time. Never been "burned" yet. I seem to save quite a bit by buying that way. Since I have gone digital, I also have benefited buy busying used discs from those going out of business. I mainly stay with Sound Choice and Chartbuster. I have aquired many SC discs that are no longer in print. Many a good version of songs has been dropped by the wayside. I admit, I have been lucky. Haven't come across anyone trying to selling bootleg discs.
Main thing with ebb is to make sure of the person you are buying from.

Probably a data loss situation with Ace Karaoke. I have had no problems with purchases from them on discs. I have had some problems with their wireless mics and getting them to take care of me on replacement, but no problems with processing orders.
You might want to call in your order next time and they will give you a order confirmation number, and a ups tracking number when it ships. Also if you place an order online they do send you a confirmation email the same day they process it...so if you do not get an email that is a indicator that the order did not go through.
Karaoke.com is good, karaoke warehouse is good, tsc karaoke is good. All of them are about the same prices.

I get all of my New Release THM on E-Bay... Get a good deal on the package of 4 (sometimes 6 with 2 bonus CDs).
All other CDs I get from Prosing.com... They have pretty good deals, or I scan EBay and get good deals there.

the two bonus discs you're talking about come from the "six pack"...
and if you subscribe to THM, you can probably get a better deal that way... than Ebay anyday! For instance... whenever I buy the sixpacks, I pay shipping only on the first six-pack... if I'm buying more than one (say a few months worth), I have free shipping on the others!
