I found a few parts pretty interesting.. The 1959 (I think) paragraph about ordering a red Strat

In July 1959, the Drifters changed their name to the Shadows. They began using Vox amplifiers : the Vox AC15 model, delivering 15 watts output through a 12" Audiom speaker. (The current Vox AC15 is not a replica of this early model). Cliff Richard felt that Hank should have a better guitar. The group knew that Ricky Nelson's guitarist used a Fender guitar, and had seen Fenders on the sleeves of Buddy Holly LPs, so catalogues were obtained from the U.S.

A Fender Stratocaster was ordered by Cliff direct from the Fender factory. Hank's had a tremelo arm, a birdseye maple neck and a Fiesta red finish (often referred to as flamingo pink - coincidentally, one of the 1958/9 Fender catalogues featured a red Stratocaster on the cover) with a white single-ply scratchplate. It was a 1959 model; late that year the Fender factory switched to producing maple necks with rosewood fingerboard instead of all-maple. Cliff bought it for Hank, but the guitar was actually ordered by Dave Lilley, as instructed by Cliff in a letter.

The effect of the Fender Stratocaster, serial number 34346, was immediate on those who saw it. As Hank put it, in the December 1996 issue of Total Guitar "it was like seeing something from another planet." Bruce Welch, who now owns the guitar, told Neville Martin about it in the July 1996 issue of Guitarist.

"... when it arrived, which was March '59, no one had ever seen anything like it. It had that beautiful birdseye maple neck, the parts were all gold-plated and of course it was that gorgeous pink colour. But first of all, there was the tweed case - the tweed case with all that velvet inside - and when we opened it, it just took our breath away."

Hey Tony,

Sorry, somehow with all my blather elsewhere, I missed this.  Thanks, I didn't think "The Shadows" would've done a style that Bad Co. would cover, yet one never knows. I too, read the "red Strat" story,  really interesting.  I read excerpts from the several pages of his historic dates... He's certainly done alot !

I also decided on some DAW equipment.  Spent the last few hour's diligently reading about differences between synths and controllers, as well as what a DAW actually is, how it interfaces with a computer, what the software does, etc.
I looked at the M-audio devices, as well as several other options, checked out the M-audio black box, yet it seemed to limit me to a few guitar options, looked at the M-audio PCI cards, and the differences in the Delta 44, 66 (I think these were the cards with lesser features than the 1010), and didn't really understand what was advantageous about the Delta 1010 until I saw the M-audio diagrams, which showed how devices link together, and close-ups of the features.. I then read about "breakout boxes" and realized that the 1010LT wasn't what I wanted, I also wanted the features of the breakout box so decided on the Delta 1010 (card and box).. Was quite happy to see that I can now get it for $369 as opposed to the $500+...
I also decided that I'm getting the M-audio Axiom-61. It's semi weighted, and looks like a REALLY nice keyboard, something I can also comfortably use with racked synth modules.

Thanks for all your help !

I had to do some studying, and reading to understand how this works..

What's best is for starter's,  it won't cost me a fortune.... $600-$800 starters isn't bad at all IMHO....

Next, I'll add RAM to my computer, but I want to get started.  For a start, I can make due with what little RAM I have (I think) !

Out've curiousity (and some boredom), I'm entering the above in a web-search. Curious if a photo of the guitar comes up :)
