All you need is a 60 inch plasma ($4500), a mounting bracket ($100), and a wireless video transmitter ($100).
Just mount the plasma from the ceiling at an angle in front of the singer with the wireless video transmitter up in the rafters and the other part of the tranmitter connected to your video out and there ya go, PROBLEM SOLVED for just a few bucks...
Just kidding by the way...I'm daydreaming..I wish I had an extra 5k sitting around and could pull this off!!

Heh...the only cool thing the club that I am working now has to offer is a huge big screen TV, which they have the lyrics displayed on... But yeah, plasma mounted from the ceiling...that would be quite killer.
Ok, so about this signal splitter...how does it work? Are they wireless? Wired? Cost of each? Benefits and problems with either?
Thanks again,
D.J.

Hi djfrank
OK, you said Quote: I have my own personal monitor that I bring in for singers to display lyrics for them I take that is a normal say 13" color tv? In that case, here's some information in the splitter.
If you use the RF cable this is your cheapest option

Actually, I wasn't sure if I was going to use a 17" or 19" Computer monitor yet, or a 19" TV. Thanks for the linky...will check it out...

I should really have specified how my system will be set up... I am going to be running the show primarily from my laptop, but I will have TWO RSQ single tray players in my rack set up also that will need to be hooked up.

First you will need to take your 3 video outs into 1 A/B/C video switch
The VIDEO OUT of that unit into a video splitter which takes 1 incoming signal and breaks out to 3 or 4 . Connect those video outs to the TV/monitors video IN
and your all set....I THINK????

DJF, let's start over. What do you have and what is your goal. Here's how I understand it so far:
You have 2 CDG players plus a laptop as primary player.
Now, what laptop do you have? How will you display the karaoke lyrics from your laptop. TV or comp monitor?
Does you laptop have an VGA output only? If so, you will need a RF modulator to get a RF signal from your laptop. As JK said, you will then need a 3 video in - 1 video out switch, and the output of this switch will be connected to the splitter (earlier mentioned)

You got it ...Laptop as primary, two single players in the rig also. My laptop is a Dell inspiron 1150. It only has the VGA output. My video card does have the split video capability, so that much is covered. I am pretty sure that I am going to have to use a TV from my laptop because I DO want to utilize the TVs at whatever venue that I am working at also. I am quite sure that this would get a bit too complicated if I used a computer monitor and then tried to utilize the TVs also.
Now, what this the best place to buy a RF modulator and stuff...? Any possibility that wireless wouldn't be to much?
Thanks,
D.J.

I assume that SPLIT VIDEO is actual an EXTENDED DESKTOP.
All you would need is a VGA to TV converter and ot a RF modulator.....
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/category/category_slc.asp?CatId=1430
Then run your converted VGA signal and the signals from your 2 disc players, into a A/B/C video switch...
http://www.cablestogo.com/product.asp?cat%5Fid=2405&sku=41016
The the output can be run to your TV. Or with the use of a splitter, you can run several TVs...
http://www.cablestogo.com/product_list.asp?cat%5Fid=2401
If you are going to have long cable runs to other TVs, the signal my detoriate. You may need to purchase a RF amplifier...
http://www.cablestogo.com/product.asp?cat%5Fid=2402&sku=41002
Hope this helped! Most all this stuff can be als purchase at Rat-Shack or Wal-Mart, except (maybe) the VGA to TV converter.
